Filoxenia Hotel Zakynthos

We visited for a week at the end of May during half term week. The hotel staff are so lovely and welcoming. We booked a 2 bed family apartment which was spotlessly clean. Housekeeping came everyday to clean round, make/change beds and change towels. Pool area and sunbathing beds were cleaned every morning. Food was buffet style all inclusive and had plenty of choice of hot and cold. Good selection of food for my daughter who is a vegetarian. Drinks were local spirits and draught beer. We never tried the wine. All were ok and again, plenty of choice. The hotel is set on the outskirts of Tsilivi with stunning views across the countryside. The walk into the resort centre is a pleasant 15 minutes, however there is a free mini bus running from the hotel at set times. The rooms do have air con but we never used it. There is a sign in reception indicating times it’s in use etc. There is the main hotel area and then an annexe block, both with pools and bar. The annexe also has a garden area. Always plenty of beds and chairs during half term week. We alternated between both areas. We took a trip to Zante town in a taxi - 15 euros one way. Worth a visit. As is one of the coach/boat trips. We did the turtle trip and Keri caves. The hotel doesn’t claim to be 5* so please don’t come expecting that - however, the hotel is very clean, with super friendly staff , good food and drinks in a beautiful location. It well deserves its 3*plus status and we had a fabulous week. I probably would stay again. Attached are photos of our views and bedroom area. We also had a very small lounge with mini fridge and kettle. Only downside was the very firm mattresses but you soon get used to them.

Well reading all the reviews was worried. Even to the extent was going to cancel. So glad we didn’t such a lovely hotel. We usually do 5 star. But honestly never get treated as well with staff. The hotel is so clean. Our room 328 was amazing. Now for the only negative. For you true bits. Don’t expect English bacon. You’re in Greece. Lots off choices in food. The only moan is could be a bit warmer. The town is only 15 20 minutes walk. We walked every day ( I hate walking) lol so not far at all . We sometimes eat out too. Loads off fantastic restaurants. We are here still till Friday. Any body want to know anything just ask.

NEVER AGAIN .. where do i start we where on holiday in June of this year at the Filoxenia hotel Zante . never again would we set foot in the place . the room had air conditioning but it only works from 10.30am until 13.30 and again from 15.30 until 18.30 unless you pay 10 euros per day . the television only had greek programs so what a waste of time could not even get the news back home. now has for evening entertainment consist of two nights which is one night greek dancing and one night of someone singing and you have a quiz on three afternoons that is if he can get anyone to have a go that is found very little for the kids to do all they had was the pool. set foot outside of the hotel and two your right there is nothing but for one cafe about half a mile away turn to your left and you have a ten minute walk to a nice little bar called sandra bar and a supermarket but you have a other ten minute walk until you find some life in Tsillvi

5 of us arrived at Filoxenia Hotel for a 7-day holiday on 05/06/24. The rooms were in need of updating but were clean. We were all inclusive and food not great there was not a great deal of choice but we did find something we could eat. Hotel staff were very friendly but the reason I would not return to this hotel is because of the noise at night time. For the whole of our 7 night stay there was a loud group sitting around the pool area from about 12 midnight until 3am or 3.30am, so noisy that we could not sleep. Then on our last night another groups of girls arrived and they all sat there as well until 3.30am. I have never stayed at a hotel before that allowed guests to sit at the pool area when the bar was closed after 12pm. When I mentioned it to the reception staff the girl just said that they had not had any complaints.

1. Arrival When we arrived Vicky took us to our room and was very pleasant 2. Location There is a shop selling anything else that you might need about 5 minutes away The location was perfect for us. A really long beach is a 20 minute walk from the hotel and the water is crystal clear. I believe that the hotel provides a bus service to the beach but we never used it. We had quite a few pleasant walks during our stay over to Zante town, which is about 40 minutes away on foot. 3. Our Room We were in room 326. The room was very new looking, modern and very clean. Large comfortable bed and balcony overlooking the pool Cleaning Staff in the room every day and towels changed if used - best I've seen in a hotel and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world. 4. Dining Always a good selection of food at each sitting Fabio, a great character, runs the restaurant and all staff were friendly, helpful and approachable 5. Bars Staff very attentive, hard working and friendly Local drinks available and were absolutely fine. 6. Pools/ Sunbeds. There are 2 pools on site and the area is kept very clean We always found a sunbed if we wanted to relax at the pool

We visited for a relaxing break and we certainly managed that. The hotel is lovely, don’t expect 5 star facilities but they do deliver a 5 star service. The staff were all lovely, from the reception staff, to the pool bars, the restaurant and housekeeping. This definitely made our holiday, especially the chats and joking with the pool bar staff! We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms which was stunning. The bed was huge and the walk-in shower was a bonus. During the day we had no issues getting a sun lounger, even though the pool was busy and, having the choice of two pools and pool bars helped. We stuck to the one just beside our room though. Breakfast was served from 8-10, lunch 12.30-2.30 then a snack beside the pool was served from 3.30-4.30 with a small afternoon tea of cakes served from 4.30-5.30 at the pool bar. We never struggled to find something to eat, and my hubby can be quite fussy. The tables were cleaned really quickly too so we never struggled to get seated. The hotel itself is around 20 minute walk from Tsilivi itself but we just used the free hotel shuttle bus and taxied it back for €10. There’s also a small supermarket around 200 yards from the hotel. Can honestly say, although there was little entertainment- we just made our own and had a ball. We can’t thank the hotel staff enough as it’s just what we needed and we would definitely return.

We stayed from 25th may to 5th June staff were excellent room large and very clean towels and bed sheets changed 2 days and 3 days but the food area needs to be sorted you had to go up and down steps with plates of food and not nearly large enough and crossing from one part to another was poorly laid out and only one coffee machine for up to 80 people when restaurant was full and at times the food was cold

The hotel was OK but very average. The staff are friendly. We had a superior room which was fine... although we had to complain twice before the aircon was fixed. The food is alright. You won't go hungry but the choice is very limited. The all inclusive drinks are limited and I was bemused and annoyed that they had no tonic for a G and T for the final three days of our holiday. Very poor. We went bank holiday week in May and there was only entertainment on 3 nights during the week and absolutely no day time activities apart from a poolside quiz one day!! The location is very quiet but that means it'a good 25 minutes walk into Tsilivi along a road where you have to keep crossing to have a pavement. Not really suitable especially with children if you don't have a car. There is a shuttle bus to the beach but it's not a particularly nice beach, quite stoney and with a lot of **** on the shoreline. There are much nicer beaches elsewhere.

Stayed for a week during May half term. Rooms - looked recently refurbished, especially bathroom. Two doubles and one single bed. Very comfortable. Fridge and kettle in room. Not alot of storage space. Nice garden/terrace. I think I would have preferred a higher room with a balcony. Pools - Two small pools, more suitable for kids splashing about than swimming lengths. No daytime entertainment. This didn't bother us as we prefer to be out and about during the day. Food/drink - Food quality was very good especially salad stuff and puddings. If you or your kids are in any way fussy eaters, you might struggle. It might be an idea for the hotel to do a plain pasta dish or pizza for example. The drinks are a bit watered down but tasted fine. Spirits seemed decent measures but we stuck to wine/beer. Location- 10 minutes flat walk into the resort and possibly another 10 to the beach. There is a hotel bus but we never used it. Beach is OK, bit rocky and water choppy at times. We did three trips - turtles, blue caves with Nefis. Definitely recommend the turtles as its an Eco friendly trip. Jeep tour with Oreo was very good too. We'd definitely go back to Zante and would stay at Filoxenia hotel.
