Costas & Chrysoula

My wife and I got back from a week's holiday at this hotel yesterday. We really enjoyed it. Staff were helpful and friendly and every thing was very clean and tidy. The pool, which we never used, was very deep deep at one end - 2.7 m I think. There was nothing wrong with it, but the sea and beaches nearby were so nice, we went there instead. There were plenty of free sunbeds right by the pool, with no towels being put out to reserve any. We paid £20 extra for the room to have a kitchenette. The room was large, with a flat screen TV, a massive balcony and a powerful shower. The hotel seems to serve a number of apartments in the surrounding area owned by the same family. We were actually about 100m from the hotel in one such apartment, which was no problem for us. Breakfast, served by the pool fine, with plenty of fruit and Greek yoghurt, bread, cereal, pastries, eggs, and cake. There was also the German option of various cold meats. The coffee was very good, while the orange and apple juice drinks were average. real fruit juice would have been nice. The town centre, which is right on the sea and beach, was about 150m away. There was a really great promenade that runs nearly the whole length of the bay, as well as a pier, and more beaches just round the headland in the other direction. Eating out at night was vey reasonable, cheaper than the UK, and the food quality was good. There was lots to choose from. The Greek salads were brilliant, and every time I got chips, they were homemade and hand cut. A huge mixed grill was only 15 euros. The crystal clear sea was the best I have ever seen, and full of colourful sea life for snorkelling. Sun loungers on the beach were generally free if you bought a drink. We had a late lunch on the beach most days for a very reasonable price. A fresh home made pizza was 7 Euros and a litre of water about 1.5 Euros, all brought to your lounger. A large beer was 4 euros. The sea was very calm indeed, even when it was windy, making swimming very easy.

Great value for money, very friendly owners and staff. excellent cleaning in room frequent towel and bedding change, beds made daily, whatever they used either on fabric softener or cleaning solution smelled gorgeous. Breakfast as expected , loved the choice of fresh fruit. Always either a hard boiled, fried or scrambled egg . Bacon but no heated area so bacon often cold. Fresh bread/toast, Greek yoghurt, honey jams, chese, cooked ham etc. Unlimited coffee. Juice. Teas. Pool area clean. Always has a shady side. Less than 5 min walk to the beach if you turn right and go through the cut at end of carpark No late night noise, good sized beds and good pillows. Full height shower too. Didn't use cooking facilities in room. Only cups and glasses but had the basics. And was impressed they provided washing up liquid, cloth and tea towel, I needn't have taken my own, thank you. A relaxing stay in Plakias. Would return

Amazing place, so friendly and welcoming, nice size pool, rooms are great and the owner Strick doesn’t take any Messing around from misbehaving visitors. Recommended great breakfast and helpful, good facilities at the hotel and the town, bar man Angelo makes the best cocktails and is a good conversationalist . We are so impressed with our stay at Costas & Chrysoula and only wish we were here for longer! The pool was unfortunately out of use but it didn’t matter at all, as the beautiful beach is only 3 min walk away :) Breakfast was great and all the staff are lovely. Rooms are exceptionally clean. Gorgeous spot tucked away among some fantastic local restaurants. Thanks for a gorgeous mini holiday! Hope to see you again soon. Hannah & Linda xx

Deze zomervakantie verbleven wij bij Costas&Chrysoula. Kleine kamers waar wat renovatie geen kwaad kan. Verder prima plek om te vertoeven, goed ontbijt. Tip: kies voor half pension want je dineert bij restaurant Gorgona aan de kust waar je gewoon a la card kan kiezen, echt super!

Arriviamo la sera a 00 a Heraklion e con il proprietario tramite e-mail mi aveva assicurato che c era un taxi che mi avrebbe portato a destinazione..il taxi si è presentato alle 1.30 e nel frattempo prendiamo un altro taxi visto che eravamo ad aspettare più di un ora dove paghiamo il doppio da quello stabilito..arriviamo alle 3 di notte ci danno una camera si spaziosa ma orrenda..un bagno squallido una doccia con la tenda gialla e il mobilio rotto..in bagno mancava la carta igienica e il sapone..ho dovuto provvedere con fazzoletti di carta e bagnoschiuma x lavarmi almeno le mani..il gg dopo il proprietario pretendeva k pagassi il taxi xké era venuto senza trovarci ovviamente non abbiamo pagato la colpa non era ns ma per i proprietari non era così anche se di norma se l aereo arrivasse x le ore 00 tu taxi devo farti trovare prima o stesso orario non un ora e mezza dopo..ho chiesto se la carta igienica la procuravano loro o dovevo comprarla fortunatamente hanno provveduto almeno con quella..la colazione la solita x 10 gg quattro cose messe in piedi e molto favorita x gli stranieri..la reception è un banchetto vicino al mini"buffet"squallido..la cena in un ristorante che devi ordinare solo un saled e o un primo o un secondo come dessert un pezzetto piccolo di anguria con liquore..cmq molto buono e abbondante ma abituati agli altri hotel con buffet l'ho trovato un po' strano i primo GG...faccio reclamo alla mia agenzia per la stanza la quale prontamente è intervenuta chiamando il proprietario..ci hanno cambiato stanza molto scocciati e ci hanno dato la stanza dei puffi...nel bagno nn ci stavamo in due era 2×2 la doccia 60x60,pulizia zero..sporco..polvere dappertutto..gli asciugamani non li cambiavamo e le lenzuola neppure..un GG ho messo fuori i cuscini e il lenzuolo x fargli prendere aria xké avevano un odore sgradevole..la porta finestra rotta..nel doccia abbiamo avuto lo stesso sassolino x 8 GG alla fine l.ho buttato e pulito io..la tavola del gabinetto piena di sabbia x 10 GG..sporco di capelli a terra..lo specchio sporco x tutta la permanenza..un armadio di un anta..il gg della partenza mi dicono k x il ns errore il taxi costava di più e non x il prezzo stabilito..ma se volessimo uno sconto di 20 € dovevamo partire alle 17 il volo era alle 22..accettiamo aspettiamo il taxi e alla reception non c'erano i proprietari nemmeno x salutarci ma un sig almeno lui cordiale..mi fermo qui nn vado oltre ..un esperienza negativa un posto squallido persone nn educate per fortuna che avevo la mia agenzia che mi.ha assistito e mi sta assistendo ancora tutt'ora..plakias posto spettacolare selvaggio ma anche l albergo è allo stato brado
