Amazones Village Suites

We booked a room the same day in the morning and called hotel to inform we would arrive late in the evening. We checked in around 10 pm. The room was dirty: swatches of hair in the shower, dangerous broker glasses on the floor and the best surprise was a "big evidence" of defecation in the toilet. Never thought it was possible such a lurid thing. I did not complain, it was late and I was tired but I want to leave this review for improvement to the owner: please, don't treat people in such a bad way. View from the pool is great, breakfast is good, but the sanity of the room was unforgivable

We stayed at Amazones Village Suites for a few days and had a truly wonderful time. The hotel has a beautiful view and the location is perfect, peaceful, yet close to everything you might need. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with all the amenities. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always willing to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast offered plenty of choices and was served in a lovely setting. We would definitely choose this hotel again for a future trip!!! 😀

3rd time staying here. Brilliant value for money. Beds comfy, aircon good, pool are and bar area are great. Plenty of places to eat nearby and food and drink at the hotel is good. Staff all very friendly as always. Will be back.

We recently returned from a lovely stay at Amazones Village Suites and had a fantastic time! We booked a garden view suite, which was spacious, airy, and very comfortable. A quick tip -if you're booking through EasyJet, make sure you select a suite and not the annex to ensure you are staying in the main hotel! The pool area was great, and our kids absolutely loved it. The views were stunning, especially around sunset, and the location was perfect within walking distance to the charming villages of Old Hersonissos, Piskopiano, and Koutouloufari. Each one had its own charm and plenty of authentic Greek tavernas to explore. We also had a fun night at My Bar, which is great for a bit of karaoke. The manager and staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and we met some lovely regular guests who made our stay even more entertaining! We’ll definitely be back! Crete is absolutely beautiful, and Amazones Village Suites was the perfect base to enjoy it!

Sadly, my experience staying at this hotel fell short of what was advertised as a 4* resort. A few problems fell with my travel agent, rather than the hotel. I paid hotel prices but was housed in what's known as the 'Annexe' a 2* at best room. I didn't have a flushing toilet for 5 days out of my 11 nights, my bedroom window didn't lock, opening my front door was hit and miss so it was easier to climb over my balcony and let myself in using the open patio door, or climb through the bedroom window with the help of the balcony chair (I'm 54). I think this building was used for the younger set of guests or, like myself, a solo traveller. The mattresses were old, thin and lumpy, the room was dated, initially there was a dreadful smell of damp, but when I brought it to the attention of George, the Manager, it was sorted. My travel agents description on the website made no mention of the annexe, it was alluded there was a hotel only, it stated there was a gym (nope), spa treatments (nope), self catering facilities (nope), even rooms with jacuzzies - to be honest, I'd have preferred a room when the shower head fitted the holder and the shower curtain reached the base so the bathroom floor wasn't flooded. Taps, sinks and toilet roll holders were covered in limescale. The room was a good 5 minute walk to the hotel up two quite steep hills. I'm fit, but anybody carrying a bit of weight, or with health problems wouldn't stand a chance. My other problem was the pool. A lovely area, but no beds around the pool were available, they were constantly covered in towels from the crack of dawn with some guests going off for the day any not even using them. Umbrellas are bolted down so you can't move them, for 4 hours of the day its the pool they shade due to the position of the sun! Due to some of the younger guests I was wide awake at just gone 4am. 'If you can't beat them, join them' I thought, grabbed my towel and navigated in the dark (no lighting) my way to the hotel... I was shocked to see that 90% of the beds already had towels on them!! It's a shame my experience wasn't better as I'd probably recommend or return had my accommodation been what I paid for. The hotel staff are lovely, the bar staff work hard and the food and beverages very reasonably priced, you certainly don't feel ripped off. I did complain to the travel company and they have agreed to refund me 15% of my holiday costs, I just hope this doesn't impact on the hotels money, however, they do have a duty of care to contact their representatives and ask for the websites to be updated to give a true representation of what holidaymakers should expect upon arrive. False representation of facilities and standard of rating should be corrected, I paid 4* hotel tax, for 2* accommodation. In all, the main building was clean, and other guests I spoke to who were in the main complex were extremely happy and complimentary so I can see how they get so many returnees, I won't be one of them. Great location with stunning views. Authentic Greek accommodation with wooden french windows and doors. Very spacious with the most comfortable beds. Spotlessly clean , our maid was so friendly. The pool area was lovely with plenty of sun loungers , although some guests got up very early , some in the middle of the night to secure their spot🤦. The managers and their staff are fantastic, can't do enough for their guests. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious as was food ordered from the menu . They have set menu deals in the evenings which are excellent and reasonably priced. Thank you to George ,Daliya, Mio and the best bar man and friend Nikos for a wonderful holiday .
