Fantastic ancient Chinese lodging with modern amenities. You get the chance to sleep on a Luohan bed. The room is a suite! Within Pingyao walled city, it was easy to go to visit the sites. The lady owner gave me a map. Even though I speak no Chinese and they speak no English, we were able to communicate using a translator app. She recommended a restaurant when I asked. They made the utmost effort to make your stay enjoyable. The owner took me to the railway station when I left. P.S. Best to download MAPS.ME as it will work offline. Google Maps does not work in China. The taxi will drop you outside the city wall and you can ride the shuttle to the hotel. Make sure you got the Chinese address. Also same possible, install the Wechat app as it is used widely in China - you text in English they translate to Chinese and vice versa.

Really love the hotel’s a**osphere. It is cool both scenery and weather. There aren’t much noice and people around the hotel, a little walk and you will reach some of the tourist’s attraction. Some employees can speak english or if not, wechat is the best help. They also booked taxi and drop us off by the taxi, the service was wonderful. Will stay here again if there’s a chance of visiting.

The experience of choosing this B&B is great! The room is uniquely decorated, warm and comfortable, with all the facilities and high quality. The yard outside the window is picturesque and makes people feel happy. The landlord is warm and hospitable, provides a lot of thoughtful local travel suggestions, and prepares delicious breakfast. If you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic. It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city. With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel. Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time. I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite. All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.

You can't drive into the ancient city, firstly because there are too many people, and secondly because the ancient city is full of small roads. When you arrive at Xiaonanmen, the hotel will send a sightseeing bus to pick you up, and you will be sent to Xiaonanmen after you check out. The front desk service is very enthusiastic, and basic needs can be met. For a small county town, Pingyao Xinghuiguan is a very large hotel. We booked a duplex family room with a large platform. The children added a quilt and rolled on it very happily. The front desk gave them handmade vinegar before leaving.

The room is not big, but it is very unique. It is a renovation of a historical building. The main thing is to feel the stay. The hotel is in the scenic area. The car needs to be parked in the large parking lot. If you don't have much luggage, you can walk to the hotel. If you have luggage, the hotel will send a small electric donkey to pick it up. I would like to mention the hotel's restaurant in particular. The decoration and dishes are very unique. It is a rare meal.

I took my kids out to play and stayed at Yunjincheng Mansion. It is a very good hotel. Before I came, the housekeeper Juaner contacted me and sent me some travel information. She was very considerate. She indicated the route on the day of check-in. In order to consider the traffic jam problem for the guests, she arranged staff to pick them up in advance. The journey was smooth. The staff took the luggage throughout the journey. I was very satisfied. The service is really the ceiling of the hotel. My stay at the Red Lantern Inn in Pingyao was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment I arrived, the owner was incredibly friendly and provided full-service hospitality. I was even greeted with a thoughtful gift of vinegar upon check-in. The hotel is unique and charming, not your typical modern hotel. The reception is located in a shop at the front, but the hotel's name is clearly displayed, making it easy to find. The directions on Trip.com were accurate, and although it’s a bit of a walk from the North Gate, it’s worth it. The atmosphere of the inn is enchanting, transporting you to old-world China. The rooms are simply designed yet very comfortable. The hotel also offers traditional costume rentals for photos, which was a fun experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The owner helped us arrange a bus for sightseeing and even provided a free ride to the Pingyaogucheng Railway Station, despite it being quite far. The car was spacious and comfortable. To top it all off, I experienced my first snowfall here, making my stay even more magical. I highly recommend the Red Lantern Inn to anyone visiting Pingyao. It’s a place that offers not just a stay, but an unforgettable cultural experience!

The boss asked us to park at the Xiaonanmen parking lot and picked us up there. It was very close to the homestay, and it only took 5 minutes to walk there. There was also a fried cake vendor next to it. We bought it for breakfast the next day and it was delicious. We didn't buy a pass for the entire Pingyao Ancient City because we were already living in an ancient house. We specially chose a separate courtyard. Once the gate was closed, there were only us, and it was very quiet. The big kang room was also very interesting, and you must experience it once. Although it takes 10 minutes to walk to South Street, I was a little tired and couldn't find the north on the first day I arrived. I felt that I had walked a long way. The next day I went to South Street for shopping and eating and felt that I arrived in a short while. The boss also gave us discount coupons for several popular restaurants. The boss's wife also specially sent us vinegar in the evening, saying that it was brewed from real grains and not blended.
