Fantastic ancient Chinese lodging with modern amenities. You get the chance to sleep on a Luohan bed. The room is a suite! Within Pingyao walled city, it was easy to go to visit the sites. The lady owner gave me a map. Even though I speak no Chinese and they speak no English, we were able to communicate using a translator app. She recommended a restaurant when I asked. They made the utmost effort to make your stay enjoyable. The owner took me to the railway station when I left. P.S. Best to download MAPS.ME as it will work offline. Google Maps does not work in China. The taxi will drop you outside the city wall and you can ride the shuttle to the hotel. Make sure you got the Chinese address. Also same possible, install the Wechat app as it is used widely in China - you text in English they translate to Chinese and vice versa.

Really love the hotel’s a**osphere. It is cool both scenery and weather. There aren’t much noice and people around the hotel, a little walk and you will reach some of the tourist’s attraction. Some employees can speak english or if not, wechat is the best help. They also booked taxi and drop us off by the taxi, the service was wonderful. Will stay here again if there’s a chance of visiting.

This is a gorgeous hotel that is centrally-located inside the ancient city with great service. It’s like living in a museum! The hotel is housed in a thoughtfully renovated ancient college with a beautiful courtyard for chatting, eating, and chilling. The rooms are large, clean, and quiet. I really enjoyed the traditional mat style bed. The hotel is a short walk away from the bustling Main Street. It was very convenient to walk to most attractions inside the walled City. The hotel owner also arranged free transport to take me to the high speed rail station. The service was wonderful. No complaints! If you’re staying here, I recommend checking out not just the ancient walled city but also the ancient temples in the area. I would stay here again without hesitation.

If you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic. It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city. With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel. Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time. I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite. All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.

You can't drive into the ancient city, firstly because there are too many people, and secondly because the ancient city is full of small roads. When you arrive at Xiaonanmen, the hotel will send a sightseeing bus to pick you up, and you will be sent to Xiaonanmen after you check out. The front desk service is very enthusiastic, and basic needs can be met. For a small county town, Pingyao Xinghuiguan is a very large hotel. We booked a duplex family room with a large platform. The children added a quilt and rolled on it very happily. The front desk gave them handmade vinegar before leaving.

This is a homestay transformed from the old house of Hou Wangbin, which is more than 300 years old. Every brick and tile was built at that time. The housekeeper service of the homestay is very professional and in place. Not only did they help pick up and drop off the luggage, but they also recommended tour routes and locations according to our time in Pingyao. You must go to the restaurant for dinner. It is said that the authentic Pingyao local chef has been here for more than 20 years. Every dish is exquisite and delicious, and the ingredients are very good!

I took my kids out to play and stayed at Yunjincheng Mansion. It is a very good hotel. Before I came, the housekeeper Juaner contacted me and sent me some travel information. She was very considerate. She indicated the route on the day of check-in. In order to consider the traffic jam problem for the guests, she arranged staff to pick them up in advance. The journey was smooth. The staff took the luggage throughout the journey. I was very satisfied. The service is really the ceiling of the hotel. The room is clean and sanitary, the facilities are complete, and the dean is very unique. A vibrant hotel.

The reception is located in a shop at the front, but the hotel's name is clearly displayed, making it easy to find. The directions on Trip.com were accurate, and although it’s a bit of a walk from the North Gate, it’s worth it. The atmosphere of the inn is enchanting, transporting you to old-world China. The rooms are simply designed yet very comfortable. The hotel also offers traditional costume rentals for photos, which was a fun experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The owner helped us arrange a bus for sightseeing and even provided a free ride to the Pingyaogucheng Railway Station, despite it being quite far. The car was spacious and comfortable. To top it all off, I experienced my first snowfall here, making my stay even more magical. I highly recommend the Red Lantern Inn to anyone visiting Pingyao. It’s a place that offers not just a stay, but an unforgettable cultural experience!

After driving from Beijing to Xi'an and back to Beijing, I was too tired to find a place to rest in Pingyao. I booked a hotel casually. It turned out to be unexpectedly good. The environment is very clean and the decoration in the style of the Republic of China is quite unique. The underground parking is very convenient. Next to it is the Pingyao Theater. A few steps away from the back door of the courtyard is the wall of Pingyao Ancient City. The night view is very beautiful. The breakfast is not very luxurious, but it basically has everything it should have, and it is also OK. I highly recommend the hotel I stayed in. The service attitude is super good. When I checked out, they also gave me the special Shanxi vinegar. When I left, I accidentally left Xiaobao's book. I communicated with him in time and mailed it back. I recommend it. Pingyao is really good now. I didn't have time to play this time. I will come next time.

Three Spanish friends, who spent the night in Pingyao. Li, the host of the hotel treated us super well, he picked us up at the train station and even brought us back when we left since we were a little short on time.
