This is such a cute little hotel! It is perfectly located in a quiet alley of the ancient town. The rooms have traditional architecture and they are clean and tidy. The friendly owner doesn’t speak English but is very happy to talk to you through translation. He gives good recommendations for travellers. Overall great experience.

Very conveniently located. Close to all important sights in the city. The owner was very attentive to the needs of the travelers. Giving tips on how to see the sights, where to eat and how to manage transportation. Very beautiful place. Highly recommended for Pingyao.

We loved this hotel in Pingyao! I cannot recommend it enough. Great location as it’s in the ancient city. The room was very clean and comfortable. The best part is the owner, when we first arrived he gave us a map and highlighted the main things to see in the ancient town, also told us about the free light show (we wouldn’t have known if he didn’t tell us) which is worth seeing. He also gave us some snacks when we said we were going to Mount Mian the next day. We also do not speak mandarin so all of our communication was through google translate. Staying here was such a highlight of our China trip! Highly recommend!!

Our stay was the most welcoming experience. The room is perfect and situated in this beautiful courtyard full of ancient chinese charm. The owner was very helpful and warm-hearted. When we arrived he gave us a map and marked all the major attractions for us. We communicated via translator and can recommend this place 100%!

Very nice room in Pingyao! Around the corner to the pedestrian area. All was very clean and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The windows have a spacial curtain for mosquitoes which was very helpful. The owners are very friendly and explained us what to do and where to eat.

Beautiful homestay in Pingyao. The building is perfectly preserved! The rooms are nice, the bed is hard and comfortable, hot water was good. Also very warm which is important in the winter. Perfect for a couple days! And walking distance to everything, like food, convenience stores, anything you need!

Traditional style accommodation. Amazing staff, the most careful and relaxed landlord we ever met ❤️. Always there but in a discret way. The place is so nice that people go there to produce photos dressed in traditional clothes. You can take photos with them! Rooms face a interior patio with little table for tea and nice talk. The mattress is a tatami style and the location is perfect. You are inside the old Town but not in the noisy area, but in the beginning of a small alley. Phone translator needed to communicate. Pingyao is a must visit city.

Avoid this hotel!!!! Don’t trust the reviews because the owner asked to do 5 star review ,hotel is so smelly and dirty,poor service for non Chinese customers,Pingyao has a lot of better hotels as this price and the same history building

the owner of this hotel is SO nice!!! even though i don't speak chinese, he made me feel right at home and even helped me organize a bike trip to the monastery nearby. boutique 819 is an amazing choice for backpackers like me. fair prices, super accommodation and kind owners!! thank you again!!

The hotel is beautiful, full of lights, old style fornitures and well decorated. Because of the style of the bed the mattress is thin. The host is extremely kind and helpfull.

小院晉風獨特，古香古色，有兩層小樓，地暖很足！聽老闆説是自家古宅改造，雖説土炕睡着偏硬，適合孩子，但也讓我們體驗了一下地方特色！位置離縣衙很近，出門不遠就可以坐上景區電頻車，去古城東邊、北邊都很方便，老闆人很熱情，有求必應，有機會再去平遙還會選這裏！

環境很好，雅緻安靜，特別舒服，正月裏去的完全不冷，老闆超級好，很熱情，特別適合家人出遊，土炕睡着挺舒服的，房間比預想的要小一些，但是很舒服很乾凈，非常推薦
