Stayed for four nights. The location is excellent—right in the middle of the ancient city, just a short walk from the main streets. The hospitality here was exceptional. Before we even arrived, the hosts were responsive and helpful in answering our questions. When we reached Pingyao at night, they personally met us at the county gate (since cars cannot enter the old town), carried our heavy luggage, and guided us to the inn. They did the same when we left, ensuring a smooth departure. We don’t speak Chinese. The hosts didn’t speak English, but their patience and willingness to help went far beyond our expectations. They never turned down a single request and always went the extra mile. For example, when we simply asked for directions, they didn’t just explain but personally took us there. On the day we left, they arranged three people and two vehicles—one just for our luggage and another for us—to take us to the train station. Their kindness extended beyond service. When we first arrived, they took the time to carefully write and translate each instruction, explaining how to visit various attractions in the ancient city. As a farewell gift, they even gave us two bottles of homemade vinegar. Their parting words, "We’ll be waiting for you in Pingyao," left us truly overwhelmed with gratitude. Highly recommend this place!

This place has been where I have been treated the best in all of China. The service is magnificent, 10/10. The owner is extremely kind, super friendly, and tries to help you even with the smallest things. He picked me up and took me to the train station. The rooms are perfect, clean, with heating and hot water. This is definitely my go-to place in Pingyao. I'm leaving very happy.

The sweet hotel owner deserves 6 stars out of 5. I’ve never experienced such good service. He was very helpful with transportation from/to the train station despite train delays. He provided me with a map and insights into how to best explore Pingyao. The hotel is rustic - but that is part of the experience staying in an ancient city. There was heating so staying in January was not a problem. I would recommend this to anyone coming to Pingyao, just to experience genuine hospitality ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The owners are really friendly and approachable. While the facilities may not be great, you are paying for the hospitality as the owner was always contactable ans ready to help.

The owner who takes care of this place is very enthusiastic and helpful. The room is nice and satisfactory. Everything is all that I expect for the price. The owner is very welcoming and recommends all the attractions you shouldn't miss. The conditions in the room were also satisfactory. Great value for money. If I have the chance, I will definitely stay here again.

The inn is run by a few very enthusiastic young men, the service is very good, and I experienced a big kang in the north! The inn is the most cost-effective in the ancient city! It’s also in a central location, making it easy to go anywhere!

The B&B is located in the center of the ancient city and is convenient for travel. The boss has carefully decorated the courtyard. When you wake up in the morning, the entire courtyard is filled with sunshine, making it warm and comfortable! The Ming and Qing Dynasty Dazhuang house we stayed in had two interior and exterior rooms. The retro home design made us feel like we were transported back in time.

The room was very clean. It was a great experience to experience Shanxi's Tukang culture. The air conditioner and shower water were very powerful. The location of the inn is excellent. It is in the city center, quiet in the bustle. It is not far from various attractions and famous restaurants in the ancient city. You will not have to worry about safety issues if you come back late at night. The owner of the inn was very nice. He helped us book tickets for the performance of "Seeing Pingyao Again" before we arrived. When we arrived, he was very enthusiastic to help us with directions and introduce the features of the ancient city. The little brother from the inn also helped us pick up and drop off our luggage. Every night when we return to the inn, no matter how late it is, we can see the boss waiting for us at the door. The boss said that we should wait until all the guests have returned to the inn before sleeping. He is a very responsible and warm-hearted boss, which is great. The small courtyard of the inn is kept clean and hygienic, and you can leisurely drink a cup of Kung Fu tea, which is very relaxing. Next time I come to Pingyao Ancient City, I will choose to stay here again.

In the alley inside the scenic area, cars can only be parked outside the scenic area. It takes more than ten minutes to walk in with luggage. The room is very small, less than 10 square meters including the bathroom, and there is no place to turn around. The facilities are old. There is no mineral water and disposable slippers in the room. The electric water heater used has little water and is not hot, so it is impossible to take a shower. The toilet water is also small and it is difficult to flush. Those who want to book a room should consider carefully! ! !
