Sun Set Hotel

A very nice hotel, clean, very friendly and helpful staff. It’s not very luxurious, but it has all that is needed: fine room, good beds, working airco, very clean bathroom. Buffet dinner average, but very cheap (10 Dinar). A big plus is that the hotel is located very near the Petra visitor center (3 minute walk). On one side of the hotel a small supermarket and the hotel on the other side has a nice bar where also alcohol is served. Can really recommend this hotel.

The hotel cancelled our booking with 3 days notice due to a 'leak' at the property. I was skeptical about this but accepted the excuse and found somewhere else to stay. I then continued to see that the hotel was available for booking throughout the week that we were in Wadi Musa (except for the day we arrived it was booked out). It was clear to me that our booking was cancelled (we had a triple room) to allow the hotel to fill the triple room and make more money that way. So avoid unless you want to have to rearrange your whole stay with 3 days notice. Not the best introduction to Jordan but thankfully it got better after that. Im sure they will respond and say there was a leak - I went into the hotel on my way back from Petra and there was no sign of any leaks or works being done. When I asked reception if they had rooms available they said yes! Also before I arrived I asked if they could arrange for us to have a lunch box instead of breakfast so that we can go to Petra early in the morning. It was a flat no from them. Seemingly putting a banana and some break in a bag is too much hassle. Thankfully the hotel we stayed in was able to do this and we had a great stay there, so it was all a blessing in disguise.

When a review emphasizes good location of a hotel, usually there is not much else worthwhile to say about the place, but in this case, you will understand everything once you get to Petra. After spending the whole day in Petra walking many many many miles, you will highly appreciate having followed my good advice to choose this hotel for its location, at just two-three minutes from the entrance to the site. It's convenient for starting your day early as well, of course. Apart from this major consideration (trust me), I'm also recommending Sun Set because everything in the hotel is brand new and shining and food (buffet dinner for 10 JD) is also abundant and tasty. Of course, for some luxury there is Movenpick next-door, but for regular western travelers, seeking comfortable modern room at a reasonable price, this hotel is a perfect choice. I stayed there with a group and we all enjoyed our stay and the food (breakfast and dinner) very much.

Great hotel, very clean and extremely helpful and friendly staff. They organised a tour guide to take us to the back entrance and it was brilliant. Everything you need for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!

I was booked at the Petra Sunset Hotel by Exoticca Tours. The hotel is old and outdated and uncleaned. Pictures of this hotel are inaccurate and this is not a four-star hotel this is a one-star Hotel. I contacted my tour guide and informed him I could not stay here I have medical conditions and it is not an appropriate Hotel for me to stay in. Upon leaving to attend the night show Petra at night. The hotel manager stopped me to ask me what my problem was I informed him that the sheets were dingy and did not look clean and that in the restroom had rust in the shower and around the sink and inside the toilet there was mold. When I turned on the heater to heat my room the odor that came from there was unbearable it was not what you would normally have when you turn on a heater for the first time. I asked for a different room he said none were available and all room for the same. I said then I will have to sleep the next two nights in the lobby. I told him that I understand that breakfast and dinner is included but I would feel uncomfortable consuming any food at this hotel. I left the hotel and did my excursion Petra at night. The hotel manager contacted my tour guide and told him I insulted him and that I was not welcome at his hotel. When I return to retrieve my luggage he walked me to my room and did not allow me to take any pictures. Please be aware of this hotel.

Io e mia figlia abbiamo soggiornato 2 giorni in questo hotel e ci siamo trovate benissimo. Ci hanno accolto con estrema gentilezza: un ringraziamento speciale a Firas, Adam e Ahmad che ci hanno fatto sentire come a casa. Abbiamo fatto la mezza pensione e abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Andate in Giordania troverete della gente meravigliosa.
