We stayed in the Pinnacle Cottage Suites and the view was truly fantastic. We really enjoyed our room and the peaceful ambience. We also had a terrific time on the RTV excursion. Due to it being summer we didn't have success with the astronomy nighttime experience, but we've never met anyone else who has either, so we were prepared for that outcome. The food was (sadly) a let down. I hate to even say that, but I had high hopes and I would say 50% of the time it was good and 50% it wasn't or it was just average....which for a place that is this "special" you'd expect the food to be as well. I am glad I had read reviews about how spread apart the cottages and treehouses are from the lodge, so we were prepared to drive or use the shuttle. We chose to drive and it does take a while to move around the property. We did enjoy a beautiful hike one morning and often felt like we had the place to ourselves despite it being a busy weekend. We did see lots of families with small children so it wasn't exactly a romantic vibe, it could be because of Father's Day, but if you're looking for a great family spot this could be a great option. All in all I'd give it a 7 out of 10. We enjoyed meeting many of the friendly staff members who worked hard to ensure we had a good time. Still, the overall experience fell short compared to other similar properties we've stayed at. It could be that if we had golfed (the course is stunning!) or spent more time trying the other outdoor adventures that are offered, we'd have felt differently, but you'll have to be the judge of that yourself.
