The Petra is a dream hotel located in one of the pearl of the Dodekanes islands, Patmos. What makes it unique is the intimate family atmosphere provided by the owners, fully dedicated, along with their great staff, to all guests. Every morning's breakfast is delicious with new surprises every day. Service, food & beverage and cleanness are simply outstanding. Rooms are simply furnished with great taste. Another great holiday at the Petra in our usual suite! Attention to detail is key to this small luxury hotel member. Perfect hosts Petrula and Costas of course oversee every aspect here be it the perfect breakfast or the immaculate clean rooms. 11 nights flew by and looking forward to our next trip in September to spend more time with our Greek family

The Petra is a slice of paradise. The hospitality was 5 star, the location perfect and the food amazing. Staff were a delight too. We were here in September and the weather was perfect. We are already considering rebooking for next year - highly recommended!

Lovely family run boutique hotel with great attention to detail. Delicious breakfast, immaculately clean and great service. Great location and views. Quiet and peaceful. They efficiently organise beach activities. Best place in Patmos from all accounts.

The Petra is the perfect destination hotel on Patmos; an island both desolate and beautiful. The small boutique hotel is a family run business; Lovely hospitable people. The food is delicious, and all homemade. I had dinner there my first night. I started out with the entire breakfast service the next day which is included. They were kind and let me take with me that which I could not eat. One cannot drink the water, but they make bottled water readily accessible at no cost. It has a very nice deck and pool area which overlooks Petra Bay. They serve drinks on the deck from the bar downstairs. A small beach is just down the street and there is a little outdoor bar and dining there as well. The rooms have their own outdoor seating area and are spacious and attractive. All the art is by a local artist by the name of Rocco. The rooms have a coffee machine, kettle, and refrigerator as well as robes. I did not partake but spa treatments are available on site. Albeit a long walk uphill the Monastery is in walking distance and from there one can walk to St. John's Cave. The walking gave me much more of the feeling for the place. The fees for the Taxis vary with the driver. It's as little as $5 from the ferry harbor, and as much as $10 to or from the hotel. I stayed three nights arriving around 2pm from Kos by ferry and leaving from there by afternoon ferry for Rhodes. My only regret is that I didn't stay at least one more night as it was a much more peaceful authentic experience then what I encountered on other Greek isles to date.

What a wonderful haven. We spent 3 nights - and could have stayed longer. A wonderful boutique hotel - that feels like you're staying with the family. The service was excellent - and the food was wonderful. Book a massage as well - provided by a true professional. We booked the Petra Suite - and had a large terrace with a spectacular view. The suite had two bathrooms which made for a very stress-free vacation ... it's the key to a long-term marriage! Patmos was a special place - go.

This was our third visit to The Petra hotel which we consider home from home. The wonderful Petrula and Costas run this oasis to perfection with amazing service and precision management. Our suite as last year was perfect and spotlessly clean as are the facilities. The breakfast continues to be a real treat no overcrowded buffets here thank you But what seals it for me is the warmth and tranquility of the hotel,the people and Grikos of course. Well, what can we say? A perfect experience from start to finish! Petra and Kostas are such wonderful hosts and could not do enough for us to make our stay more comfortable. Petra is a wonderful cook and we ate in so many times for that very reason; so much better than going out! Moussaka and meatballs an absolute must. And the chocolate cake….. words fail me! A big shout out to Eleni and her team for the exceptional service and local recommendations , together with the boys servicing the rooms twice a day. We stayed at this beautiful hotel for a week. Were to start. Very welcoming staff. The hotel deserves the small luxury hotel reward. Everything is well organised. Thank you Eftichia and Jesica for every morning smile you were giving us. The breakfast different every day. Doing great job girls. The owners were very nice people. All specialties were prepared by her. The rooms are cleaned and maintained more times a day. Cleaning staff doing great job. Beach towels left for you every day. The pool is another story. Great view great sun beds.
