Paternoster Dunes Boutique Guesthouse

There are a lot of wonderful reviews for the Paternoster Dunes Guesthouse on Trip Advisor and we can now wholeheartedly agree with them all. As a couple, we were fortunate to spend the last week of September at the Guesthouse and we are so glad we did. And also glad that we spent more than 2 or 3 nights there. Because if we hadn’t we would have been kicking ourselves that we were leaving too soon! We have been fortunate to travel quite extensively but there are very few places that pay so much attention to detail, and deliver such a high standard of warm, friendly & caring hospitality. Everything has been carefully thought about - the antique furniture, the wonderful cacti decorations, the warm fire on a cool evening, a very well stocked honesty bar, complimentary afternoon tea & cake, a fantastic range of coffee table books…… The essentials are also superb as well. Spotlessly clean, crisp bedding & fluffy dressing gowns, a wonderful fresh breakfast each morning, comfy loungers on your patio, a secluded pool, immediate beach access (and what a beach!) and a view to die for. Add in Jurgen & his team’s care & attentiveness, assistance with local knowledge, restaurant bookings etc etc And all in a lovely seaside village with many wonderful dining choices from casual to world class, and with places like the West Coast National Park, the Fossil Park, the Columbine Nature Reserve all so close. We both feel privileged to have been able to spend 7 nights here!

Great location with access directly onto the beach. The breakfasts were very good and unique. Afternoon tea with cake was a treat.

We booked at Dunes in Paternoster to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was our first night away from baby and we were desperately looking forward to sleeping through the night. Unfortunately the very uncomfortable pillows and mattress prevented this from happening. When you pay a certain price, you expect a certain standard and views cannot make up for poor quality bedding.

The Dunes Boutique Guest House ist perfectly located and offers good comfort. Facing to the west you can enjoy beautiful sunsets.

We spent three nights here in January and we thought it was the perfect place to finish our vacation in SA. We loved the location on the beach. We stayed in the Salt room and it was lovely walking straight out onto the beach for a morning or afternoon walk. There is also a lounge which has a magnificent view over the sea too but I would definitely want a room with a terrace. This is where you have breakfast too....which were splendid. Service was great too - they helped book restaurants for me which is pretty important too. I would absolutely recommend staying here and intend to come back one day.

We loved our stay in this gorgeous beachfront guest house. Our room was enormous, super comfortable bed, lots of wardrobe space and great bathroom. The staff were attentive and the breakfast each day was delicious looking over the stunning bay. A wonderful massage completed the stay.
