The room had a strong smell that we had to crack the window and turn on the air for the smell to go away, the place is old, so for the price of $130 a night is ok right? Well.. So I booked this room using trip.com app and because of that the front desk girl required me to pay $250 as a security deposit.. if not I had to leave, so if you add it up, to stay a night at this place in a so so room, I had to charge $129+$250 security deposit +10 parking = so after $390 I could have a night of sleep. I just hope I can get my deposit back as soon as possible. They said 5 to 7 days. So just you know before you go!

Fairfield Marriott is a mediocre hotel. All the hotels in the Sacramento area were overpriced. Our room at the Fairfield hadn’t been properly cleaned. The size of the room was fine, a good size, functional bathroom. The air conditioner was more like a blast freezer, and very noisy, but effective. The front desk service was always professional. The buffet breakfast was very basic, but adequate. Many staff seemed to just talk to each other, so not much got done. The place just needs a few more good workers and things would greatly improve. The airport shuttle was on time.

This hotel was clean, well appointed, and we received great service. The location of this hotel is in the suburbs, but it is still quite convenient. It is just off the highway, and depending on traffic is about 7-10 minutes to downtown, and 5-10 minutes to large shopping areas. The surroundings are other hotels or business buildings, so the area is quiet and feels safe. The hotel was very clean and feels almost new. Service was excellent. Lots of smiles. Really great bartenders as well! Facilities are very comprehensive. We were able to do all of our laundry, and the machines were new and only 1.00 per load. The swimming pool and hot tub were very enjoyable. The lobby, bar and restaurant area, and the outdoor patio were all spacious and clean. One thing you should note is that breakfast is NOT free. There is a $10 cost for the continental breakfast, and then there are ala carte options like omelets for between $15-20 each.

While booking they say their is shuttle transport. So I chose them. I arrived 10:46 pm. I reached by the shuttle pickup site 11 and there was no one. Tried to call with my eSim. Was not allowed. Lady from a other shuttle company helped me and phone was answered but put me on hold for about 5 min. Lady tried different was to call when she did get answer it was said they do not have an shuttle ride at that hour which was after 12am. She arranged a Lyft for me. When I am at the hotel I see that shuttle rides from 4 am to 12 am. I realy do not understand d why. O shuttle came nor why it took so long to get an answer on the phone instead putting me to wait over 5 min.

The hotel is large and spread out across a vast area. It is situated in the heart of Sacramento, making it easily accessible to visit downtown and other areas. Many good restaurants are nearby. The building is old, probably built in the 80s, but the rooms are remodeled, clean, and spacious. The price for a Sunday stay in June was very affordable, which is why we chose this hotel. The only complaint is the confusing shower. The blue dot indicated hot water, and the red dot indicated cold water. No instruction or warning sign, so my daughter had to take a cold shower. We thought the hot water was out, so called a maintenance guy, who came right away and was friendly, by the way. This was a more affordable option in a safe and convenient area, suitable for a family budget trip. And, of course, we loved the welcome cookies!

Pics and reviewer’s comments were very misleading. The hotels and rooms are extremely old and outdated. You can hear a lot of weird noises generated from unknown machines even at night, with noises from the parking lot. The amenities are so poor. The flushing button of the toilet is broken. Mirrors are broken. Never worthy of a return and highly no recommendation for any solo/family/biz travelers. Neighborhood of Sacramento is very very great, only except this poor inn….
