Hotel le Mahana

This was a very lovely hotel in Huahine. We came for our anniversary and the staff were so kind. They set up a special dinner for our anniversary evening! The facility was great. We loved our Polynesian cottage. Food and drink were awesome and staff was exceptional. We highly recommend!

This little gem is on a stunning beach. It’s perfection. White soft sand, scallop shaped and the perfect size on a small lagoon. You can snorkel right there, altho I recommend you let the hotel book you a guided snorkel day trip. Don’t miss it! We were picked up at the airport by their chauffeur and had a surreal stunning 25 minute ride. Huahine is now my favorite island if you like less tourists, extreme beauty and a super laid back experience. Arrived at the small paradise and really couldn’t believe our eyes. Small well appointed super comfortable bungalows in a tropical paradise. All within spitting distance of water but I recommend the beach front if you can swing it. You are on the sand and why spend the money on an over the water bungalow when you can have your own semi private beach. This is an affordable option for luxury without the unnecessary frills. Everything is open air and on the beach. The cabins can close up for the comfort of air conditioning and privacy. Did I say there are outdoor (optional) showers in every cabin? The food is good, not fabulous, but that was ok with us. Breakfast buffet is nice, but a bit pricey at $25 US. Do the weekly Polynesian dance show and buffet. It’s a fun homegrown experience right outside your door. I could have stayed for much longer and sad we only had 2 nights. I recommend at least 5 to 7 days to fully relax. Unless you are on the run to see more islands. For me this is the best island we went to. Want to go back and bring hubby one day.

This is an authentic beach front bungalow experience. We had a great stay from beginning to end. Everything about Le Mahana is first class. We were met at the airport, our bags were taken to our room and all we had to worry about was enjoying our vacation. The restaurant on site was great and the staff were dedicated to making sure that we had a great stay.

Lovely accommodations, welcoming reception staff. Rooms were clean and spacious. Nice snorkeling from the pier. Very nice beach area; quiet (except for the roosters LOL ;)). Food was delicious and restaurant staff were courteous and helpful, but could have been a little friendlier. Not sure if they just didn't like Americans, but we sensed something... just want to say, if it that was the reason, not all Americans are obnoxious, some of us are very nice, kind and generous, respectful and appreciative. We loved your tropical island. thanks for sharing it with us for a little while.

Very cozy hotel, prime location at Avea Bay and beach on southern side of the smaller Huahine island. Great service and good restaurant. The beach huts has a Maldivian touch and being able to snorkel on a healthy reef off beach is just great. It is safe to swim, paddle, snorkel etc in the big bay where also charter boats like to anchor. We spent four days here. Now holidays are best in good weather and sadly we experienced one and a half day with rain. But we had a full day mostly in the lagoon and a sunny day on bikes. We rented bikes at Europcar at the hotel and went around the island on regular bikes with limited gears - 60 km and we only had to walk a bit of the Belvedere climb and stop to cool brakes on the other side. Riding a bicycle really let you breathe in the beauty of this island. It is magical and stunningly beautiful with its lush green hillsides. E-bikes are better to rent at E-bike Huahine (newer and better e-bikes). We spent 6 days at Bora Bora before Huahine. It is calmer here, more beautiful, less crowded and less touristic. Less 5 star hotels but if that is luxury to you, you’d be happy at this charming hotel. Spend a few extra and get a beachfront location.

Just magic. the staff, the grounds, the rooms! Feels like you are in another world. Everyone is so friendly, the food is delicious so you never need to leave the property unless you want to go on an excursion and the front desk takes care of everything for you! you can snorkle right outside your room and take long beach walks! There isnt a ton to do so go here for relaxation mainly and book a jet ski tour and island tour if you can on a 4x4! A great way to start our honeymoon. Get the beach front bungalow...you wont regret it!!!
