Review of Esplanade Motel & Conference Centre May 2024 Spacious, warm unit Good parking at motel room door Comfortable bed although 2 pillows per person would be appreciated Clean unit except for extensive mould in the shower joints Tapware needs attention from a plumber Toilet seat was very loose, beware when using! Fire hazard as front door to unit was difficult to open from the inside. Inside of the lock held together with Sellotape! This property does not deserve a 4 star rating, should be 3 star Note on the wall warns of a $500 fine for opening the fold out couch. A motel owner has no legal right to impose a fine. Fines can only be issued by a court or similar.

Was convenient for getting in an out of town. Was quiet and tidy. Very helpful lady on reception gave a good recommendation for cafe within 5 minutes walk from the motel.
However wasn't impressed with the black mould around the silicone sealants and grout in the shower over the bath. Also no safety hand grip rails for older people to climb into the bath in order to shower.

Staff there were extremely nice, recommended places to eat and go that were really good. Would definitely come back at my next stay at Palmerston north!

Don't delay! This has to be one of the motels I've stayed in in Palmerston North so far. Has everything you need and more. I was going to stay another week but unfortunately due to unavoidable circumstances I've had to posepone. But will return in the near future. :)
