Hotel Bosch Boutique

Firstly no idea what the couple of 1 star reviews are about below, I think they’ve got the wrong hotel. Could not recommend enough, stayed in the plaza suite and it was 5/5. Heard no noise from the bustling and vibrant street below, room and hotel was spotless throughout. The plaza suite was large with a free standing bath and walk in rain shower. Could not fault. Restaurant / cafe on the ground floor was fantastic also. Location of this hotel is perfect, right in the heart of the old town. 5 minute walk to Cathedral / Port and a 10 minute walk to Santa Catalina. Highly recommend for a city break.

Air-con didn’t work, Wi-Fi didn’t work, we ordered a crib for our 18month yr old but instead where given a small bed that fell out of twice, difficult to access (stairs), very loud - people screaming in the corridor and knocking at our door all night. Staff unhelpful the next day and they have refused to give us our money back and responded with a rude and aggressive email when we made our complaint.

After much research, I booked this hotel for a city break fot the end of our Summer holiday 2022 for my family of 3. The central location and the funky design of the rooms appealed to me. I booked directly with the hotel and communication was fast and friendly. This was November 2021 , eight months ahead of intended stay. At no point was I asked to prepay , and my credit card number was not sought. I didn't think much about that at the time, and no payment was requested at any point subsequently. I do not recall that being a condition at the time of booking. So, imagine my horror , when ,upon arrival at the hotel, there was no record of my booking, After a blasé response from the girl at reception , whose English was very poor, she called her boss and handed me the phone! This person then shouted at me, saying it was her day off and she didn't need this hassle! She said my room was cancelled as I hadn't paid in advance ! I said I wasn't asked to pay in advance! They had my email address and phone number! It would have been so easily rectified, but they failed to seek payment and made out it was my fault! So, now , we were ,unceremoniously left to wander the narrow streets of Palma Old Town ,in the late July heat, looking for a hotel . We wandered into Hotel Brondo , where, although, fully booked for the week, a very helpful receptionist, Hervé, helped us secure alternative accommodation. Before writing this review, I emailed the hotel, but received no response.

We stayed here when our flight home was cancelled and we were delayed another two nights. Rather than staying at the much pricier hotel we had stayed at the previous week, we decided to stay here. We were pleasantly surprised by the great location and spacious room. The bed was a bit firm, but otherwise comfortable. Very nice room and pleasant customer service. Would definitely recommend.

2 friends stayed in this apartment in Bosch Hotel. We found it to be spotlessly clean, well equipped and very spacious. No balcony but large doors open up. No road noise, just cathedral bells on a morning which was wonderful. The class toilet door does mean you need to be organised! Great location for all the best parts of Palma. The 2 reception staff we dealt with were extremely helpful and polite. Would definitely stay again.

I’ve had to think long and hard about writing this review: I’m a firm believer in not using Tripadvisor as a soap-box for dissatisfaction, as it’s only fair and proper to give the establishment the opportunity to address any issues at the time they crop up. On this occasion however, whilst I’ve been generally impressed with the facilities and ambience offered by Bosch Boutique Hotel during my two visits, I have to agree one hundred percent with the many reviewers who comment about the complete lack of communication from the hotel, and the absence of their attention to important detail, from the booking and checking-in process through to the absence of advertised facilities during my stay. For my first visit I booked on their website, where it tells me that they would take payment from my debit card “straight away” – yet when there were only a couple of days left before my arrival I tried to contact them to ask if my reservation had been confirmed, as my payment hadn’t been taken. The mobile phone number didn’t answer, and I was invited to leave a message. I waited three days with no response, before I contacted Bar Bosch (the bar café beneath the hotel) to see if they could help. It seemed clear to me that they were well used to being bothered by hotel customers panicking because they hadn’t been contacted, because whilst they were as helpful as they could be, they were at pains to point out that the two businesses were completely separate, and so they couldn’t really help. I persisted with the mobile number, and was eventually able to get a human response, which perfunctorily dismissed my concerns. Moments later (as if prompted by my concern) I received notification from my credit card that the funds had just been taken, and a numeric code for the door entry panel. Upon arrival late in the evening, but fortunately whilst Bar Bosch was still open, I found the entry code didn’t work. Fortunately I was able to enter the hotel through Bar Bosch, but had I been much later I guess I would have suffered the same fate as another reviewer, who had to resort to the good-nature of another hotel who accommodated them (illegally) without sight of their passports, which were locked in their inaccessible room at Hotel Bosch. I had made the simple request during my reservation, for twin beds (I was attending on business with a male colleague). The double bed had not been split into two single beds. There was indeed a minibar as advertised – but it contained nothing at all – especially not the offered free bottle of Cava. The toilet flush fitting was broken, and my attempts to report it to the mobile phone number (there were no staff in attendance, apparently owing to COVID) resulted this time in no reply whatsoever – so I repaired it myself. Nao é hotel, muito menos boutique. Apesar de bem localizado tem uma estrutura precária, sem funcionários disponíveis. O ar condicionado de desliga automaticamente, não esfria, e ainda acende a luz de emergência. O chuveiro é oscilante, não mantém quantidade e temperatura da água constante. Decepção, não voltaria. Está mais para um apartamento, sem serviço. A arquitetura do quarto não ajuda, apesar de ter 2 ambientes o banheiro não fica em lugar cômodo para os 2.

Vor ziemlich genau einem Jahr (Januar 2023) habe ich das Hotel Bosch noch voller Begeisterung mit 5 Sternen gepriesen (Google). Seinerzeit wurden die Versprechen, die im Netz durch Fotos und Text vermittelt werden, weitestgehend erfüllt. Wir waren also begeistert und beschlossen, das Hotel Bosch auch für den nächsten Jahreswechsel (23/24) wieder zu buchen. Leider änderten sich ab dann unsere Erfahrungen total. Es ging schon mit der Buchung los: Wir erhielten gar nicht erst die Möglichkeit, die auf der Hotel-Homepage versprochenen 10% (für Wiederholungstäter) einzulösen. Egal... für uns musste es – insbesondere auch wegen der zentralen Lage – unbedingt das Hotel Bosch sein. Also buchten wir unter Vorauszahlung des vollen – im Vergleich zum Vorjahr extrem gestiegenen – Preises. Leider mussten wir nun hier vor Ort feststellen, dass die Leistungen mindestens so gefallen sind, wie die Preise gestiegen. Es ist bemerkenswert, wie ein Hotel innerhalb eine Jahres heruntergewirtschaftet ist, wenn sich der Fokus der (für den Gast nicht sichtbaren und nicht greifbaren) Hotelleitung offenbar im Wesentlichen auf die Sicherstellung der Zahlungseingänge beschränkt. Die ursprünglich recht hochwertig Ausstattung wirkt inzwischen abgenutzt und ungepflegt (Flecken an den Wänden, Toilettenspülung defekt, Bettwäsche fleckig...). Vor einem Jahr waren die Handtücher noch dick und flauschig. Heute sind es "Läppchen". Damals gab es noch vernünftige Pflegeprodukte (Rituals), heute... keine Ahnung was das für ein Zeug ist. Vor einem Jahr stand eine Nespresso-Maschine zur Verfügung. Heute kann man diese kostenpflichtig (ernsthaft?) buchen. Stattdessen ist das Zimmer nun mit einem Billiggerät ausgestattet ...welches aber natürlich nicht funktioniert. Der jungen Dame, die wir gelegentlich an der sogenannten Rezeption angetroffen haben, haben wir unsere wesentlichsten Beanstandungen mitgeteilt. Das führte dann immerhin dazu, dass wir schon nach 4 Tagen (!) einen W-LAN-Zugang erhielten. Den Kampf um eine angemessene Ration Toilettenpapier mussten wir hingegen fast täglich führen. In Sachen „10%-Erstattung“ sagte sie uns regelmäßig einen Anruf der Hotelleitung zu …unnötig zu erwähnen, dass dieser nie erfolgte. Sehr schade... im letzten Jahr sah ich uns noch als künftige Stammgäste. Das wird dann wohl nix...
