I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent one-night stay. Prior to booking, I called the hotel and was told a room would be available between 12–1 PM. Since I was working remotely, I planned my day around being able to check in and start work immediately. However, when I arrived at 1:30 PM, the front desk informed me the room wasn't ready and couldn’t provide any estimated time for availability. After following up, I requested to speak with Terica (who I had spoken to on the phone), and she came to the desk and provided a clear ETA, which I really appreciated. Her help was one of the highlights of my interactions with staff. Another point of confusion involved the deposit. I was told a $100 hold would be placed due to the short stay, but I later noticed two holds on my bank account—one for $100 and another for $695. The larger charge is still pending, and I’d appreciate some clarification on that. The room and the property overall were lovely, but there were a few service issues. On the evening of April 21, we returned to the hotel and found the television wasn’t working. When we called the front desk, we were told that engineering had already left for the day and someone would come in the morning. No one followed up, and I had to call again on Tuesday morning to get it addressed. In my opinion, there should always be someone available for essential issues like tech or plumbing problems. Regarding valet, I was told it was included in the room stay, but I was still charged for it at checkout. As for food: The rock shrimp and fries were both good. The sushi wasn’t great and didn’t taste fresh. I had the "smash burger" at the pool, but the patties didn’t match the smash burger description and seemed like frozen patties. I’d suggest simply labeling it a "burger." Something from that meal also made me feel unwell, though I’m not raising a formal complaint. Overall, I didn’t find the staff overwhelmingly warm or welcoming, though Genevieve at the pool was a bright spot and very kind. Additionally, I found it inconvenient that the hotel shuts down food service early, especially considering the limited dining options nearby. At this point, I’m not sure if I would return. There were some enjoyable elements, but also several areas that need attention to create a more seamless and hospitable guest experience.
