From the moment we arrived our whole experience was calm, serene and blissful. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff members. Our spa experience was out of this world. The best sundowners ever and we even spotted a leopard on our evening safari with Ali our guide who was an enormous wealth of information. The food was always fresh and delicious - a culinary experience to behold. I wish I could stay forever…, xx

Unique ! Super luxurious and sophisticated modern 'tents',beautifully designed overlooking a never ending vast dam and surrounded by shrub forest in the heart of rural Rajasthan...where the only sounds you hear are the chirping of birds and the incessant and positive caws and shrieks from the majestic peacocks ! Impeccable and refined service..they do everything possible to make your stay memorable and indeed it was ..from boat rides , nature walks,jeep safaris to a magnificent sundowner on the cliff !..We were also able to briefly meet the very dignified family who reside on and own these vast lands ,so gained an insight into its history and preservation which made our trip there meaningful and complete . Absolutely fabulous and highly recommended !

Beautiful location by the dam , interesting cottages , lots of birds , peaceful place . Good attentive staff , it was a lovely stay .

A tranquil remote place, our accommodation was on a dam overlooking a lake. A luxury tent, it was large, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The service we received was excellent throughout. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, which specialises in home-grown, home-cooked food. We took a boat trip around the lake, where, helped by the very knowledgeable naturalist, we spotted many bird species.

This property is exquisite and the perfect place to spend some time if you want to relax, enjoy quiet, and appreciate nature. They have an ornithologist and a naturalist on staff who are prepared to show you all the different species of birds and all the other wildlife on the property including many peacocks, antelope, wild boar, mongoose, and we even saw a leopard. This hotel is absolutely peaceful and one of a kind, and the staff are equally delightful. If you’re traveling to/near Jodhpur and are a nature lover, don’t miss it.

If you want a break from the hustle, bustle and noise of the cities, and a chance to relax and unwind, then this is the place for you. The hotel is 16 “tents” built on top of the dam of a reservoir. At one time before RAAS took it over, they were actually tents, although rather grand ones. Now they are normal fixed structures with fabric interiors to achieve a tent look, which does work. Every room/tent overlooks the reservoir with a magnificent and peaceful view from your veranda. The rooms are reasonably large with the facilities you would expect. The central dining/ bar area is also on top of the dam with same great view. Dining is the usual mix of Indian and international (ie Italian) and is very good quality. Note that there are more than 50 steps from the drop-off level up to the dam top level where everything happens. If this is a problem because of mobility issues, do ask the staff for assistance. There is not a guest elevator, but there is a service elevator which they will willingly show you to if you need it. The hotel offers an open top jeep trip visiting the surrounding rural area, which in our case included a school and a family fam. It also offers boat trips on the reservoir. We did both of these, both led by Gauss, the hotel naturalist, who has extensive knowledge of birds, nature and the local area. When we were there in late Feb the main bird migratory season had largely passed so there was not an extensive variety of birds on the reservoir. However, this was more than made up for by our unexpected sighting of a leopard, apparently contemplating a feral cow as its next meal. Both trips were well worth while, although ( without the leopard) the boat trip would be better in Nov - Jan for bird life. It’s difficult to convey just how relaxing this place is. We really loved it - probably our favourite property of our whole trip. Yes, it’s not luxurious, but it’s certainly not basic either. It’s really comfortable, well appointed with everything you could need. We absolutely loved this place and would highly recommend it.
