Winíka Alterra

We just picked an hotel in Palenque to have simply a place to stay for one night do the ruins it turned out to be one of the best spend time of our holiday! The object is a bit difficult to find by car but after arrival you are pampered in every possible way. So much hospitality you seldom experience. Don’t mind the pictures you see on the booking site - this place is much better than it seems! Secluded and outside palenque’s centre, the hotel feels quite intimate, with lovely rooms inside cabins dispersed across a gorgeous garden. The food at the restaurant is excellent too. Excellent value for money.

A true highlight of our trip! The property is beautiful. If you enjoy being off the beaten path and being surrounded by nature, Winíka is it. Helena and Abel are wonderful hosts. Always available to answer questions. We didn’t have a car but transportation was easy to get. The pool is exceptional; the cabins are charming, clean and comfortable. The food is good and made fresh mostly from ingredients grown on the property. They also provide excellent tours with professional and knowledgeable guides. We can’t recommend Winíka more highly!

Amazing! Elena has been wonderful! We were there in low season, so we were the only guests. But she made sure that we got the whole service, the whole day. Great food in the restaurant, good breakfast en personal attention when you need it. The room is great, large and has very comfortable beds. The resort is just what we needed; peaceful, quiet, surrounded by nature and waking up by the sound of howling monkeys and parrots. A perfect place to disconnect and get rest while you sightsee in the area of Palenque during the day. The pool is ecologically filtered: so 0,0 chemicals, they grow their own vegetables, have a little farm with animals and have solar energy. So they really do their best to be environmentally friendly. The track (most people complain about) is a but bumpy indeed. But if you drive slowly there is no problem at all. Thank you Elena and thank you Abel for taking such good care of us! We really felt at home!

Winika is a wonderful, wonderful place. The cabin was gorgeous, spotless, classy. We loved the natural pool, the many iguanas, the streams of ants, the bananas... a near-jungle experience that was the children's favorite stay in a 5-weeks-long trip around México. The food is fine, the transport is easy, and Abel was the best host/driver possible. I learnt so much from our small talk. Cannot be recommended enough, but absolutely not for resort types (a great plus!). We felt really special, in a special place.

Las instalaciones son adecuadas al lugar , las cabañas muy limpias , el restaurante con rápida atención con horario de 7am a 10 pm y meseros muy amables . La alberca ecológica me parece limpia y con buena temperatura . Pero lo mejor fue la calidez humana desde el momento de nuestra llegada .
