Palau Green Village

Positive factors: the location, staff are nice, pool is great and the premium apartment isn’t too bad. Negative factors: walls are so thing the noise is terrible, not enough kitchen supplies, garbage should have a note of how to do it properly, we have to clean after ourselves, there is no cleaning service until we leave ( eventhough we pay for it) , pillows are terrible it feels like we are sleeping on rocks) , we don’t get extra toilet paper or garbage bags. The operator didn’t tell us about the including price of the fees until after the fact.

You need a car to get your groceries. There’s nothing on the park. Staff was friendly although; You will be asked to pay all kinds of extras at arrival including money for cleaning. If you desire a clean set sheets or towels, you have to pay. If you would like to have your room cleaned, you have to pay. But you have to clean the dishes yourself and takeout the garbage otherwise they will keep your deposit. This will be checked before you leave. Our two room apartment was not located at the pool which was a blessing. The apartments are quite noisy. Some of the smaller apartments are tugged away. It’s great to be in walking distance from the ferry to Madelena and restaurants. There’s a beach close by, which looks out over the harbor. We will not be going back here.

Cons: We were put off by the fact that they gave us so many instructions on the recycling so they can charge us 70 euros for cleaning services and in 5 days no one ever came into the room to clean anything. On top of that we were asked for a 100 euros deposit for kitchen cleaning and on the last day one lady came to investigate the kitchen so we can get our deposit back. Mosquitos every night due to the gardens around the apartment. Pros: Nice and quirky area Quiet 10 mins walk to the restaurants in Centre Palau Nice small pool area surrounded by palm trees

We spent a week at Palau Green Village as a family with one 4-year-old. We loved the location of this residence and the overall ambience. The sand/pebbles beach was just a 2 minute walk through a cute pine forest away. Also, the residence has a nice café/bar with excellent drinks (we got a Sardinian style Gin Tonic with herbs- it was amazing!) and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool was in the center of our apartment complex.The apartment itself is well-equipped and it was clean. However, (and this is why I give 4 stars), we found the communication of what was expected of guests should be improved. A couple of things: 1.) we booked through a third party which had some information differently than their policy. For instance, we were told check-out is at 10 AM but when we arrived they told us check out is at 9 am. Also, certain fees were not disclosed to us ahead of time. We needed to give a 100€ security deposit in cash only. It’s the hotel’s responsibility to regularly update their website and partner information to make sure the information is accurate. It seemed a bit sketchy at first. 2.) There is a hefty cleaning fee of $80, yet we were not told that we had to bring out our own trash at departure, let alone where to dispose it. Also, the kitchenette is not included in the cleaning fee. If the kitchenette seems dirty, they will take $50 from your security deposit. 3.) check-out is at 9 am sharp- but the reception does not open till 9 am (in our case it opened at 9:15 am. You need to be there to receive your security deposit back, so we couldn’t just leave the key in a key box. 4.) reception/café hours: the reception hours fit the overall Italian way of life, that is, they were closed between 1-4 pm, leaving their hours to 9am to 1 pm and 4pm to 8 pm. This is a bit tricky for travelers, especially since most flights from Olbia arrive in the early afternoon or late in the evening.

The only negative thing I can say about the hotel is that the price that was announced on the Internet was not the real price for two nights, I was charged 80 euros for cleaning. I don't think it's fair not to announce the final price, pretty mean of you. When you go to the store to buy bread, the price is announced, and if you don't have the money, they won't give you bread, right? I don't like being cheated on this way. Hopefully more people will see my comment and consider if they want to book there . I would not recommend you to anyone. I feel sorry for the staff working there, they are very nice and the bosses are crooks.

We stayed 6 days in Palau, a great place to visit all Gallura and Islands of Maddalena. Welcome and amenities were great in Green Village. one downside : poor sound insulation and heat pumps used all night by neighbours just behind our wall bed ( worse than sleeping with a fridge !)
