Kasbah Bab Ourika

Amazing views and the grounds are kept very nicely. Room was nice for a family of 4 but beware no door on the shower or toilet area. Restaurant good and staff overall good. Hotel sets up guides/drivers easily. Our guide, Hassan was amazing… he grabbed on to my arm the entire hike down a mountain. Definitely request him!

The last 5km drive to this Kasba through the VERY rural roads had us worrying about what we were headed for! However, when we arrived and brought into reception and to our suite, it was a WOW. The grounds are extensive with nooks and special places to sit and breath, read and smile. We were really fortunate to have the panoramic 2 rooms suite, with the heated pool. The weather was mixed, so we had the open fire lit in the evenings. It was very special.

The Kasbah is absolutely gorgeous . The gardens were beautiful with plenty of idyllic areas to sit and admire the scenery. It never felt crowded. The heated swimming pool was a joy and the outdoor terrace for lunch was also lovely. The breakfast was delicious and lunch was beautifully presented. Dinner was slightly disappointing with food sometimes being cold. I had the vegetarian tagine one evening which was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. One slight disappointment was that we did not have the high atlas Mountain View from our room. The only place to get the most stunning views of the mountains was from the vegetable garden where we found a bench… and an extremely friendly cat. We did the 3 hour treck, the guide asked which route we wanted to take and we opted for route B… very much a climb in heat we are not used to. It was too much for me to manage so we then diverted to an easier route. The treck was a highlight, it was fantastic to be out in the landscape with wonderful views. There is no way we could have navigated it without our guide. Bring reasonable walking shoes! The Kasbah is well worth splashing out on and I would love to return. Late February was great for us. Chilly in the mornings (cardi weather) warming up to summer clothing during the day, then cooling down to needing a puffa jacket, shoes and socks in the evenings. Fire pits and lanterns are lit on the patios so you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets and the clear night skies, there is a roof top area from which to get the best sunset views.

I hardly know where to start. My friend and I I spent two blissful and peaceful nights here and it was honestly the most incredible stay. The welcome was warm and helpful. Instantly offered refreshments, then shown to our rooms, then given a tour. We were blown away by our bedrooms which we were upgraded to, an incredible treat for two tired mums. Thankyou thankyou! Stunning views across the valley and towards the Atlas Mountains. The food was delicious and beautifully put together. The beds were big and super comfortable, as were the pillows. The bathrooms spacious and the toiletries were divine. The fresh flowers, little jar of cookies, tea and coffee in the rooms were very welcome. Everything was so well thought out. I couldn’t stop taking photos of the views, the plants, the birds and the stunning pool. We also had the best Hammam experience. Those ladies know what they are doing. I cannot recommend this place more highly. We plan to rebook for another escape next year.

This hotel is no longer what it used to be. Until just a few months ago, it was a very good hotel in a dream-like setting. Unfortunately, the pursuit of maximum profitability has turned it into a disaster. I paid €400 for a 25 m² room, whereas the commercial offer indicated a suite between 40 and 60 m². The bathroom radiator was not working, and it was impossible to take a bath—the bathtub takes 25 minutes to fill, and by the time you get in, the water is cold. I am attaching a few photos to clearly show that this is a place to avoid at all costs. The management's behavior is unacceptable, and I have decided to file a complaint with the Directorate of Tourist Regulation (DRC) at the Ministry of Tourism in Rabat.

After a manic 2 days in Marrakech, it was to this pleasant retreat that we came for 5 nights with family. With stunning views up the Ourika Valley and magical sunsets, this was a serene break in another world of orange trees, lemon trees, olive groves, bougainvillea, jasmine. The gardens are extensive with rosemary hedges, fountain and sun lounges, pool, terrace and pathways. The rooms we had at the end of the garden were private suites a short walk from the main building, isolated in peace. The rooms were nice, cleaned daily and well-appointed. The staff were helpful and very pleasant and willing. The food for breakfast, lunch or dinner was good if slightly limited in choice; well-presented and tasty. It is expensive but we enjoyed it for a family occasion.
