Primo Ostuni Hotel

Ignoring food and wine, thoughts about Italy generally oscillate between the ancient, Roman ruins and antiquity, and the modern, Maserati and Gucci clothing. The Hotel Primo Ostuni clearly fits into the latter category, an exemplar for hotel modernity. It resides in an ideal location on the edge of the tourist Mecca of the old town and virtually in front of the tourist coach car park. It would have to hold the Italian record for room lighting. As I lie here on my extremely large comfortable bed, I can count 13 lights, even the shower, mirror and wardrobes have lights. The rooms are spacious with separate toilet, bathroom vanity and shower areas. The shower and vanity are of unique design, the former being a very large, open plan, glass-free area, so no squeezing into claustrophobic glass cubicles and wet floors. Our room had a small external patio with a couple of chairs and a distant view of the olive fields and Adriatic Sea. The dining area has wall-to-ceiling glass on three sides with the same olive-sea view. The breakfast was excellent with an extensive range of fare, both hot and cold, to cater for all tastes, and very helpful and attentive staff. There is a bar for that afternoon drink and a 25% discount during happy hour, although we never managed to work out which hour was the happy one, perhaps all hours in OSTUNI are happy! So in an historical town, the Primo Ostuni is an unexpected surprise. Very hard to fault so HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Absolutely Incredible – A Must-Stay in Puglia! We stayed at Primo Ostuni during our recent trip to Puglia, and it truly exceeded every expectation. Although the hotel is new, the team has created something exceptional—modern, stylish, intimate, and absolutely immaculate. What sets Primo Ostuni apart is the people. From the warm welcome at check-in to the friendly restaurant staff, every single person went out of their way to make us feel at home. Nothing was ever too much trouble. It’s rare to feel such genuine hospitality—this team made our stay feel truly personal. A special moment: it was my husband's birthday on our last day, and the staff surprised him with a breakfast cake and the most delicious potato and asparagus bites (ask for Valerio—they’re unforgettable!). We've stayed at many hotels across Italy, but this one tops them all. If you’re visiting Puglia, make Primo Ostuni your base. We’d give it 11 out of 10 if we could! Perfect location, a few minutes walk into the centro storico. Room was clean, spacious and modern. Staff were all really lovely and helpful. Breakfast was tasty. We could find a free parking spot easily close to the hotel. A very good 4 star hotel.
