Club Hotel Marina Beach

Hotel was very pretty, clean and staff friendly; When we arrived there was a charge in excess of £200. To use the pool, the towels and the gym etc. apparently in the small print but we were unaware. Then there is a charge of 20 Euros deposit per towel and a daily charge to change them. Cash/ card cannot be used in the hotel. You have to buy a prepayment card. Not ideal with a family of 4 sharing one card! Meal times are chaos. You are allocated a table for the stay but as the meal time slots are 2 hours it is absolute carnage with people constantly walking in to the tables and chairs. Our table is we next to the plate scrapping section The chefs were handling the raw food with gloves but then touching the plates with the cooked food… Safe to say we didn’t even make use of our half board.. we ate out Free for all, no one queues. Just rude! On day 3 our daughters bag of toys and our towel was taken from the pool Side. We had only nipped to get a drink from the pool bar my husband was in the pool. Reception point blank refused to replace the towel asking for another 20 euro fee despite knowing we had reported our belongings as stolen. The next day we spotted someone with our things and reception refused again to even replace my daughter’s towel. Or contact security. For 48 hours we requested a manager and were told they would contact us… Nothing! We then had a meeting with the director and a translator and they still refused to replace the towel. The cost of the towel was not the problem, as this point it was frustration and common sense lacking on their part! We said we would contact the police over our stolen bag and then they replaced the towel… We know the hotel are not responsible for other guests behaviour, but when we have been done wrong by we expect some empathy and help. Just the use of a towel for our daughter,,, Forget the towel deposit, a theft had taken place and we felt upset and violated. There was a medical episode while we were there and the young life guard, used the bottle he had been drinking from to clean the man’s head. He was bleeding at the side of the pool, no sun shelter and in full view of other young guests. My daughter was distraught! Is there even a medical record book on site, no notes taken of any accidents. Beautiful place but for the above reasons we would not recommend this hotel. We didn’t feel safe. What would have happened if there had been a bigger theft? If there had been a bigger accident? Terrible customer service and just a lack of health and safety, common sense and training. No phone signal, not hotels fault, but then WiFi went down for 4 days out out of our 7 day stay. Receptions answer the was fixed maybe today, maybe tomorrow. We were then given the staff WiFi which worked for one day. On the last day reception staff said they weee unaware of an issue!?? They were aware 4 days ago. More nonsense. Lets start with positives. Nice garden surrouding the hotel, pleasant sea temperature, nice viewes on adjacent mountains, peaceful and quiet surroundings, just two hotels in area. Now negatives: Not 4* hotel in my opinion, average 3* I would say. Older hotel including older facilities. We had to switch rooms, because originaly we stayed in room on the ground floor, which was right next to irrigation device (garden is pretty but its double-edged sword since mornings and evenings they watter it that much that there are little pools of watter right next to room terraces which means mosquito apocalypse, we literaly had dozens of mosquitos just waiting on terrace door for us to open and as soon as we did, there was no way stopping them). So you either never open terrace door (which is kinda impossible if you want to dry out swimsuit or towels) or make your peace with dozens of mosuqito bites. First night, I killed 11 mosuqitos in the room, still got multiples bites next morning. After we asked twice for a different room, hotel accommodated us and gave us room on the top floor. Food was very blend and monotone. Only vegetable during breakfast was tomato and cucumber (both crude and tasteless), two types of salami, one type of cheese, 95 % of breakfast was pastry. If you want scumbled eggs, you have to wait in line so they make them for you. They have outside grill during dinners, but since we were served with raw pork, we never returned. Also, basically no alergen labelling, which is kinda bummer in 4* hotel in EU, where hotels are obliged to provide you with that. Ofc we werent in mood to ask all the time multiple times a day if that food at buffet table contains gluten (celiatic here), often foods werent evend branded (explanatory name of a meal), so you had to judge only by the look, which is not always possible. Also the dining area si one big hall, very loud and noisy, so you have to either yell or not talk coz you cant hear anything anyway. First hotel in my expecience, that asks 2,5 EUR for one beach towel per day (regardless if you get new one daily). If you want beach sunbed in first two rows at the beach, prepare 40 EUR (which is i guess standard now in Europe. Beware of misleading beach photos, The sand isnt whitish at all, its standard yellow sand, gritty here and there. Fitness had no air conditioning, so prepare to suffer in 35 degrees working out (all windows are open). Although we paid for all inclusive and hotel tells you there are snacks form 11:00 to 12:00 and 17:00 to 18:00 at pool bar, never once there was any snack during that time at that place. Between breakfast 9:300 and 12:00, there are no all inslucive drinks options at all (not even watter). Btw all inclusive doesnt apply on beach bar, so you have to walk 300m back to pool each time you want to drink anything. Idk if it was timing but this hotel is clearly favoured by elderly guests (80 % of guests), so be ready to wait a lot (might be bothersome now and then). T

Most of the services closed, the quality of the food very low. Reception staff unfriendly, probably because of the poor management as they did not answer to basic questions or have authority to do decisions. Always had to go to the back room to ask management. I asked to talk to the manager, but he/she didn’t have the courage to talk to a customer. Challenging to borrow sport equipment, for example a basket ball was not available every day. The pools not heated, air condition not operational in the rooms. Room cleaning did a great job. We booked for a week, but left after four days. Nice location next to beach, but I would not recommend to anyone.

The hotel was a ghost town. Also ac was broken and the staff was incredibly rude about it

I’ve been here as part of my stay in italy. Everything was nice, good quality of food, also nice room, good staff, always smiling and very helpful Breakfast was the best part of this stay, good choice of sweet and savory food. This was a good stay for all of my family!!!!

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was lovely and made the experience special. We loved our bar server Manuel that treated us so special. Can’t wait to come back.
