We had a great time at this charming and quaint little B&B! The owner Florence took the time to greet us at the door and personally guide us around the historic house while offering us the living history of the family that originally built the place in 1875. We were enthralled at the still orginal staircase and antique furniture from days gone by. We were invited to use their library or relax in front of the fire, they told us we could order a charcuterie & cheese board if we so desired of local hand-cured meats and cheeses prior to our dinner reservations. After a leisurely soak in their outdoor spa (the water was hot and the spa was clean), we relaxed in their infrared sauna. We retired to our room where fluffy pillows and a comfy duvet on a cozy bed awaited us. The towels were soft and very plush, we felt very invirgorated after using organic soap and body wash from a local supplier that hinted at cedar and rosemary. The following morning, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast in a sun-drenched dining area, again with a bounty from local suppliers; the hostesses we're kind enough to provide GF toast and lactose-free yogurt for me. We sampled lots of fruit, freshly-pressed tart cherry juice, homeade granola, poached eggs with a pepper and tomato compote, Sumatran coffee and choke cherry coulis. Florence also was patient enough to answer all our questions and we had a lively and spirited discussion about the area and where to find this and that. Florence also procured our ski lift tickets with a discount to ski at nearby Mont Orford which we appreciated as we didn't have any hassle and the mountain was a 4 minute car ride (very convenient!!!) There was free, secure parking onsite. This place was very easy to find, and very quiet. It was super clean and very tastefully decorated, with a no-frills country vibe. There were many choices of tea and drinks. We also received a discount coupon to use at various shops and restaurants which I thought was nice. Complementary slippers were provided in the lobby, as well as items available for sale from local suppliers. I will certainly return to this hidden gem off the beaten path. Even though it's tucked away from the village, it's still close to the town of Magog if you want to shop or eat (about 10 minutes away). There were tons of restaurants and shop ls nearby, even a chocolate museum and soap shop (cute!)... Thank you Florence!
