Olden Fjordhotel

Arrived at about 4.00 p.m. went to check in to be told quite abruptly you can't check in we have no linen. Little by way of apology - you will just have to wait. We did not know how long it would be and sat in reception with our cases along with other people. WE finally were allowed to check in at quarter past five. We booked a evening meal in the hotel but we were not advised that this would be a buffet meal shared with people who were arriving by coach. In reality there was plenty of food, it was well presented and tasted good. The 2 members of staff were attentive albeit very busy. The room was OK, pleased we were only here for one night. The hotel is quite dated and requires some investment. There is parking but the car park was quite full especially as two coaches parked overnight. Good views across the fjord.

Its a big hotel maybe grand 40 years ago, but interior i dated now still charming but much need upgrade. Room nice ok size, great balconey view, big telly but same dated. Breakfast maybe ok, had much better selection arrangment in Norway. Same great view when eating.

We had a pleasant stay at Oden Fijord hotel last may . The manger and all the staff are vey nice The room is spacious and has a balcony overlooking the fiord ,the view is amazing The restaurante has glass walls which also enables the view , we had dinner twice , dinner and breakfast very good

I have recently stayed here and found that the service here was excellent. I had made a telephone booking a few weeks before, as there was a glitch in the online booking process (now resolved). The booking was easily made by telephoning the hotel reception, without requiring any advance payment. I am fairly sure it was the same friendly receptionist who checked us in when our party of three arrived and whom we spoke to every day. The hotel is not part of a chain, as far as I know and has a good personal touch. The serving staff are very attentive and the manager is a visible presence. The lobby creates a very good first impression as it it is a spacious relaxing area, with Chesterfield furniture. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and in a good state of repair. All rooms have balconies from which there is a good fjord view. Good beds. There is also a good view from the dining room of the fjord, as it has a corner position and has continuous glass walls on both sides. It is a nice place to eat breakfast and the buffet dinner. I give the food 4/5, service 5/5 and room 5/5.

We visited Olden Fjordhotell late July, and chose this hotel because of the scenery. After reading some of these reviews, we were not expecting much, but oh what a pleasant surprise! Although busy, we were greeted by the most helpful and friendly receptionist. The hotel manager welcomed us too, in the most personal and friendly way. The reception area is well kept and traditional, which we felt was completely right for this timeless, beautiful place between mountains. Our rooms were clean and well equipped, with a balcony facing the fjord. Stunningly beautiful! In the evening, we enjoyed a varied and good buffé, which would please both fish-, meat- and vegetable lovers. Breakfast too was very good, staff attentive and friendly. We highly recommend this place. Whatever made some people rate this place low should not prevent you from giving it a go.

Hotel antiguo con bonitas vistas a un fiordo. No obstante se menciona que es un hotel de playa y hay que cruzar una carretera. Los baños de las habitaciones tenían mal olor pero las duchas eran correctas. Las camas buenas y cómodas. El buffet, pagado aparte, demasiado caro en relación a lo que se ofrecía. El desayuno correcto pero un tanto limitado también.
