Phillipshaugen Lodge

Just as marvellous in the wintertime, as in the summertime. Amazing views around the lodge and cosy inside. It may be wise to bring warm clothing, such as wool undergarments, due to the fact that this is a historic building. Also, the sound insulation between the rooms is not quite up to modern standards :-) but that has its charm, when you think how old the building is. Our stay here was fantastic! Accommodation here took us back in time, and that was amazing.

Spent a night here whilst on 'norgesferie' this summer. It's a beautiful old building in a classic Norwegian setting. From here we drove out and visited stunning Innerdalen. Staff were fairly friendly. Breakfast was the typical (Norwegian) spread of bread, sliced meats, cheese, egg etc. They should probably have covered it somehow as there were flies buzzing around. The room was fairly small, every sound in the corridor could be heard. This is of course a very old building so I wasn't surprised, but this is something to be aware of. View from the window of the mountains was a sight to wake up to. Bathrooms are shared but certain ones are designated to certain rooms. I thought that we were sharing ours with just one other room but it turned out that that bathroom was shared with two other rooms. Meaning short showers if you're considerate. Said bathroom was adequate but worth noting that there was no shower gel provided. If you're prepared for the corridor noise and bathroom situation, then this is a great place to stay. Innerdalen is certainly one of the most beautiful places I've visited in this country.

Arrivés sous une drache infernale, pluie et grêle mêlées, la découverte de ce lodge a été rassurante, l'accueil excellent par le patron, qui a repris l'établissement il y a 3 ans seulement. Proposition de nous placer dans un bungalow séparé du corps du lodge, nous y avons découvert tout le charme de l'ancien, et cette chaleur des pays Nordiques , surtout quand la météo reste défavorable!... Excellent diner le soir, très bonne omelette Norvégienne le lendemain au petit déjeuner, et nous voilà revigorés pour repartir dans notre étape du jour, heureusement avec une météo un poil plus favorable! Allez y sans réserve, c'est une découverte bien sympathique que nous fait là, dans un cadre de montagne et de verdure incomparable!!!
