Residence Inn Tampa Suncoast Parkway at NorthPointe Village

We have stayed here before. I think this last time was the last for me. I prefer people up front at the desk that engage you with their eyes instead of just looking down at the screen and maybe try to smile more? It’s called hospitality. Funny that’s the name of your industry too. Our flight was a late one out and I asked the night before about a late checkout. Didn’t want to sit at the airport for 5 hours. So I asked and before I could finish it was 12 checkout. I said so no late checkout? Oh wait. What is the room number (Hello? Try to look at me just once?) once I have the room number she said nope 12 pm. Okay thanks. 5 hour airport sit in activated. We then complained about the parking. Here’s an idea stop charging people ridiculous incidental fees and maybe charge a little for a parking pass. It’s ridiculous that two night I had to park at some apartment complex and walk to the hotel I paid to stay at. Of course when I mentioned it all that was said was yes it’s terrible. I give up with this place. I’ll stay somewhere else from now on. Too bad because we loved the room.

Lobby has a large lounge area with plenty of seating. Continental breakfast is popular with many options (bagels, eggs, bacon, waffles, cereal, yogurt, orange and apple juice, etc. -- The food was freshly stocked, although the fruit on offer had seen better days.) Reception service was fast and friendly. We were given a ground floor room down the hall from the convention rooms (there was some noise during the day when events were held). The room looked out onto the basketball hoop and part of the parking lot, so we couldn't open the curtains for more sunlight without being on display. The room was clean and spacious -- full kitchen (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, sink, silverware, dishes, pots and pans), desk and chair, sofa with chaise sectional, 2 bureaus with drawer space, a bistro table and two chairs, a flat screen TV in both the living area and the separate bedroom (limited amount of channels to choose from). There were plenty of outlets. Bedroom has a digital safe (happy that this was added, as it wasn't an option during our stay a few years prior), iron/ironing board in closet and outlets in the nightstands. Bathroom had a toilet/tub shower combo (vent works when the lights are on to get rid of humidity, but so-so water pressure) with a separate vanity/sink area outside. Hairdryer and 39 Degrees North toiletries. Hotel is within walking distance of a gas station/convenience store and a few restaurants and a 5 minute drive to a Publix and CVS.

The staff at the Residence Inn welcomed us as long term guests during a challenging time. In all we stayed nearly four months. The hotel was very clean, accommodations were spacious and amenities very nice. It was a treat to enjoy the daily breakfast, a definite perk for our stay. The staff was very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Sales manager Jackie Seneca and Assistant Melanie Cancel provided excellent customer service. Also, staff members Annette, Carolina and Dante were so warm and friendly and made our stay there very pleasurable.

Stay far away from this place! Customer service is comparable to a 1 star motel. Ask to resolve an issue? Nope. They will just say “oh”. I am very disappointed in this hotel and because of this hotel I have lost interest in staying a Marriott member.

We loved our stay here. It was one of the best hotels we ever stayed at and we've stayed at many over the years. Staff was so friendly and helpful and special kudos to Alexa for her professionalism and going out of her way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. If you are in the area we highly recommend you booking your reservation at this hotel.

We have been in many hotels, but the staff we had is by far one of the best people we’ve encountered and we travel a lot. The hotel it was really nice, but I’ve heard they will be remodeling so even better. I want to thank Melanie and Alexa for their pleasant smile and accommodating us during our stay, they are extremely pleasant and they are the people that seem to love what they do. Customer service is a will not a skill, and it’s hard to find pleasant and happy people nowadays. Also want to mention that before we arrived Margarita spoke with me over the phone and was really nice too over the phone. You guys are certainly a place that I will chose if in the area. Great Job!! The breakfast was great too.
