The property was absolutely stunning, the decoration and everything about it was high class. The room was exceptionally comfortable with much thought going into every little detail. We loved the fact there was an on-site chef and there was a large choice of items on the menu. We ate in both nights and the food really was excellent, and extremely tasty. We would absolutely recommend eating in and this was backed up by the tasty and plentiful breakfast in the morning.

It states 4 star but it is not even 3 star. The only good thing is room size. Bathroom is tiny. No lobby which includes a couple of sofa, no open space. No where to stroll you are just confined to your room. I didn't check ( thought breakfast is included, I am sure that I selected with breakfast option ; my mistake ) while booking but after paying 120 USD what you get is just a place to sleep. Please never book

Beautiful place with spacious and comfortable rooms. All amenities were provided. Location is great as it is away from the city, the approach road is better navigated with a 4 wheel, but doable with a car - we did it. Nice location , can travel to nearby attractions easily. It gets quite misty all of a sudden and nothing can be seen then! We had good views of the village but the mountain view was spoilt by the other buildings on the side. Great view of Pidurutalagala though. Food was the best, every dish we sampled was excellent. Staff was courteous, kind and helpful and would go that extra mile to make sure the stay was great. Would definitely visit again.

I recently visited Sri Lanka with my family for a short holiday from Australia, and our experience at Fort Windshire made the trip unforgettable. The location offers stunning views, and the hospitality from the staff was exceptional. The rooms were spacious, super clean, and incredibly comfortable with all the amenities needed for a family stay. The food was fantastic—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented with a variety of menu options to suit any dietary needs. The in-room spa was a lovely added touch. Located in a convenient area, allowing us to easily visit key attractions in a short amount of time. Highly recommend Fort Windshire for a memorable stay!

Visiting this hotel for the second time was an absolute delight. As someone in the hospitality industry, I often notice the finer details, and this property exceeded all my expectations once again. The location is simply stunning, offering breathtaking views of the hills from the comfort of the hotel. Witnessing the magical sunrises and sunsets here is an experience in itself—a perfect way to unwind and connect with nature’s beauty. The rooms were impeccably clean, thoughtfully arranged, and equipped with every amenity you might need, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay. From plush bedding to well-stocked toiletries, the attention to detail was remarkable. Dining was another highlight, with food that was both exquisite and creatively presented. Every meal felt like a celebration of flavors, further enhanced by the friendly and attentive service. Special thanks to the chef and his outstanding team for making dining such a memorable experience. I must also commend Richard, who is a true asset to the property. His dedication to ensuring everything runs smoothly and his exceptional organizational skills stood out. While I don’t remember everyone’s names, I can confidently say that all the staff were incredibly friendly, kind, and humble, making my stay truly special. It’s rare for someone in the same industry to be this impressed, but this hotel has redefined hospitality for me. They don’t just provide a service they create an unforgettable experience that blends impeccable care with breathtaking natural beauty. I can’t wait for my next visit!

The unique thing about this place is the extra mile they seem to go even with the smallest of things. Like the quality of the shampoos, body lotions, the effort put in by the management and the staff to make you comfortable, the views from the rooms, the carefully thought out decor, etc. a bouquet to commemorate our wedding anniversary was the icing on the cake for us 😊 The food is excellent too. Would highly recommend.
