Feather Leaf Inn

My spouse and I are just back from a fabulous stay at the Feather Leaf Inn. We stayed in the Tamarind room which faces the ocean and also has two windows on the side of the room for great breezes. Each night we were lulled to sleep by the sound of crashing waves and could see amazing stars just outside the window. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and at home. Everyone on staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Additionally, the other guests were nice to talk to and get to know. The breakfasts were awesome! Everything was very fresh and filling. We are vegan and vegetarian, but the omnivores staying at the inn were equally wowed by the food. We especially enjoyed the homemade yogurt, fresh smoothies and hot out of the oven focaccia bread. There was even a day of Swedish pancakes made by a young person from Sweden. If you get the opportunity to take a tour of the property that Ryan gives, definitely do it. The history is very interesting and the mission that he and Corina have undertaken as stewards of the land and ocean is impressive. Ryan also does a great job with recommendations for activities in the area. We would recommend renting a four wheel drive vehicle to get around as the roads in St Croix have a lot of potholes (though you can get by without it). One of our favorite activities was exploring the tide pools across the street from the inn. There were beautiful shells, little fish and crabs along with amazing blue water. We also loved looking at all the plants, lizards, birds, etc. Probably the best part was just recharging and relaxing sitting on rocking chairs on the porch and looking at the sea. The Feather Leaf Inn is an outstanding place for vacation!

The Feather Leaf Inn combines attentiveness with ease...I felt very welcome & comfortable, and that's the sense I got from other guests staying there as well. It was quiet and the other guests were grounded & kind. The breakfasts were really, really good, and they accommodated my celiac/gluten free needs beautifully. The owners Corina & Ryan also do an incredible job stewarding the land by planting food trees +, working with local eco conservators, & explicitly acknowledging & honoring the role of the transatlantic slave trade & enslavement of stolen Africans in the history of the property - something I appreciated. The hotel is on the quieter, Western side of the island - ideal if you're looking for a quiet getaway. Once we went grocery shopping (they have a shared kitchen), there wasn't much need to leave except if we wanted to hike. You can walk a few minutes down to the ocean to swim or snorkel. Accessibility: If you have trouble with stairs or require a wheelchair/walker, this would likely be a challenging place to stay.

I am reluctant to provide a review because I would like to keep this gem of an inn for myself. A magnificently restored 1760 sugar plantation with spacious rooms and views of the Caribbean from the bedroom and sitting room. Ocean breezes through open windows. Gracious owners with ecological and social consciences created a warm and welcoming vibe and a feeling of privacy. Felt a solid connection to the history and culture of the island. A five minute walk to the ocean results in first class snorkeling, large rays, turtles, spiny lobsters and too many tropical fish to name. My wife and I found the experience deeply relaxing, healthy and restorative. Not suited for those seeking swim up bars, loud music and drinking games. Really enjoyed our stay and plan to return next year.

This is the second time we're stayed at the Ocean House. This is literally the most beautiful spot on St. Croix, overlooking the sea. A truly hidden gem. It's so peaceful, with the sound of the waves crashing 24 hours a day, the amazing blues of the Caribbean, and a simply wonderful breeze that blows through the place. Corine and Ryan are wonderful and accommodating hosts. A few considerations. If you want bars and parties and lots of action, this is not the place for you. Though it's only about 10 minutes from Frederiksted, it feels like you're in another world, far from everything except the water. If you want peace, quiet, and beauty, this is THE place on St. Croix. Though you can walk down to the water in about 2 minutes, there are no real beaches right near the property. Pops blowhole is right up the road and visible from the Ocean House. Rainbow Beach (5 min. drive) is the closest beach.

My family spent two nights at the Feather Leaf Inn, staying in the Dragonfly House, and we absolutely loved our stay. The property is beautiful and Corina and Ryan could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Everything on the grounds is well thought out and we felt an overwhelming sense of comfort and relaxation every minute we were there. We had a great appreciation to the attention to detail across the property - from the room, to the main house, to the grounds - everything fit together and lent itself to a spectacular stay. We spent a lot of time enjoying the views from the room balcony and hanging out by the pool. Our stay was much shorter than we would have preferred but we will definitely come back in the future. Corina and Ryan are incredibly welcoming and the property is peaceful and absolutely beautiful. Plus, your stay actively supports coral restoration via Thriving Islands LLC. I went snorkeling with Corina and Ryan and saw the results of their hard work just offshore of Feather Leaf in Butler Bay. A really incredible place
