Gøtugjógv Log House

staying here made my whole Faroes trip extra special. It's a great location, away from the capital, but not far from anything. I loved it here! Stayed in the apartment so I had extra space and could cooks my own meals, which was exactly what I was looking for.

Finding affordable accommodation in the Faroe Islands is a challenge. But we found the perfect solution in the Gotugjogv log house. For a start the provider, GLH, packages the accommodation with car hire. We flew into Vagar Airport, Faroe Islands, and picked up our hire car from the airport. It was a Ford Fiesta with about 44,000 km on the clock. It was so much cheaper to hire the car as part of a package Our accommodation was one of 4 3 rooms in the basement of a newly built house. We shared a bathroom and that worked just fine. I believe there is also an apartment with its own cooking facilities. Our room had a good sized bed, fridge, kettle, microwave and plates, cups and cutlery. Best of all it also had a lovely view of the bay. So the room had plenty of natural light. There was a blind to darken the room at night ( the sun sets late and rises early in the summertime). I also wore eye shades and that helped. Our host was lovely and was always happy to help out where she could. The bathroom was kept clean. The accommodation was a good 30 minute drive outside the main township of Tórshavn. That did not pose any problems as there is a great local restaurant just 2 minutes away from the log house (Brimborg Restaurant). There is a local supermarket just a 4minute drive away.
