Muri Beach Resort

We've loved our stay, room was great and so was location. Just a walk down the beach to many restaurants. We had breakfast next door at The Nautilus and it's the best breakfast I've ever had. The staff were amazing, especially Mahe our amazing receptionist.

Everything was excellent, clean, comfy bed, serviced daily. Activities organised at reception. We took the island tour with Wokka who was excellent and knows his island well. Very friendly and helpful staff, cleaning staff were always smiling and chatty. We enjoyed the beauty of the lagoon from the beach front bure 17. It is upstairs so be aware if your not able to handle stairs otherwise 16 on the ground level. Gardens are kept immaculate and Toby who has been here 40 years knows all the history and a lovely man. Quiet location, great facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in ‘Garden View’ villa number 5 which is close to the office and pool. Villa 5 has the usual facilities and seemed to be quite fresh and new. Chooks and magnificently feathered roosters that roam the lush gardens are delightful and not noisy at all. Beach is ‘just there’ and you can swim, snorkel or even walk across to the nearby island. Snorkelling experiences get better nearer the island. 3 minutes walk gets you to the Muri Night Market where you can get dinner from 6pm, (check what day it is operational) but don’t wait too long as some stalls finish early. Felt better than home; wish we could stay longer.

This hotel was really poor. We booked for 8 days over Xmas 2024 with Luxury Escapes (another disaster). When we arrived, we were thoroughly disgusted at what we saw. The reception is tiny, and unwlecoming. The "resort" is in poor repair, the rooms barely 1 star (they claim 4). There was no kitchen, which we asked to see and were told it was closed. It was so bad, we left and stayedf elsewhwere. Stay clear.

Good. Sometimes it was not possible to watch YouTube on the TV set due to poor Wi-Fi connection.

This resort is relaxed and basic but welcoming and peaceful. There is a small reception with a friendly welcome and on-site free parking. The rooms are around 20 villas spread out over quite a large area with a decent size central pool at which there are BBQ facilities. There is a guest laundry you can pay to use or they will do a load for you. We were in a 2 bedroom villa which was spacious and comfortable with a living room, dining area, small deck with loungers and a kitchen which has most basic utensils, a microwave and a gas 2 burner. The bathroom had a shower and a full bath with jets. The area of the beach isn’t as nice as other parts of Muri with rocks and **** straight off the beach, but there is a nice view of the nearby island which you can wade to. The snorkelling nearby isn’t the best, but there is a spot to the right of the island which is OK, but only OK. They have kayaks and SUPs available as well as snorkelling gear and reef shoes. At the beach there is a bar which is sometimes open in the afternoon and serves very basic drinks - low quality Australian wines, basic beers and spirits. There’s no restaurant on site but you can charge back from the sister resort Nautilus (although that restaurant was not great and certainly not for the prices it charged). The resort wifi is fine for emails and websites and you can upgrade to premium for a price if you need to. All in all this was a good place to stay and we would return as it’s a good option for families with kids. The staff were very friendly and learned our son’s name.
