Please save your vacation and just stay elsewhere. Trust me, it is not worth the nightmare that is this hotel. Cidni the front desk employee was the only reason I originally booked there because she was so friendly and hospitable over the phone and answered all of my questions. The hotel seemed quaint, historic, and interesting/funky. I asked about noise levels b/c of canal street (and me being a very light sleeper) and she assured me everything was quiet and our room was in a good spot. I also verified the listing with her before booking, as we had to book through *********** specifically for this trip. I told her *********** says there is a 1 bedroom available to book and that is what I wanted. She responded saying she only had a studio for our full dates but she could try and get us in a 1 bedroom for some of the nights. Although this means I am paying a higher price and not getting what was advertised and having to switch rooms mid-stay, she was so kind and went out of her way to make the adjustments *AND EVEN CALLED ME BACK TO VERIFY THERE WOULD BE NO ADDITONAL CHARGE* (this is key for later in the story... so I went ahead and said thank you, was so appreciative, and excited. Upon arrival there was no mention of additional money owed and everything seemed to be OK, minus: 1. Very unclean facility (pieces of debris and trash were in same spots throughout our stay in communal areas, nuts and shells were in our sofa and on our floor, black debris on our bare feet throughout our stay and threats of not getting white towels dirty constantly weighing on our minds). 2. The noise was CRAZY! I don't mean during the day, during the day I don't care, ALL NIGHT people were drag racing their cars down canal, multiple times and at all hours of the night. Guess where our rooms were? Right on canal. We forced the a/c unit to have the fan on at all times to get more background noise and it helped. We never mentioned these 2 things as we shrugged it off and tried to have a good vacation. Finally, we received a call from Cidni's boss in the middle of a tour in the middle of our vacation saying we had a charge that was unpaid. They were trying to charge us for "upgrading" our room! We paid for a 1 bedroom for 5 nights, stayed in a 1 bedroom for only 2 and then downgraded yet they want to charge US?! I stopped by to inform Cidni and give her the benefit of the doubt. I asked her why her boss was calling us midday, why she was so direct and rude, and how shocked and confused I was. All while being as sweet as possible to her thinking she was on our side with all of this. She turns around and LIES to her boss and me and says "Yes, she does not have a good hospitality sort of manner and can be very direct. She comes from a business world not hospitality, I'll talk to her." Then she works in how there may be a charge and I look at her and say "you said no additional charge, we both heard it". I tell her please help us sort it out and we will come down Monday AM at c
