Shawmont Hotel

We were so pleased with the Shawmont Hotel in Ocean Grove. It was a perfect little place to have a room, and be so close to the beach and the shops, as well as the boardwalk to Asbury Park. I do feel the Hotel, and this is only my opinion could have a more beachy feel to it, but it kept with a more historical modern look, not my thing but it was clean and sharp. The furniture in the main lobby was not that of cozy or comfy either- . Service was excellent, there was an older lady there who was very chatty and obviously loved her patrons, she was there to greet us for every breakfast. Breakfast was simple store bought bagels and cream cheese, and muffins nothing fancy. Our room was small, but we were only planning to sleep in it, if you want a weekend getaway and be able to walk everywhere this is the place. Steps away from the boardwalk and beach, which is across the road. I will write more on the beach, local shops and boardwalk in another review, all great.

Incredible staff, clean room, great location. We had reserved a room with a king bed, we thought, but only got a double, and the air conditioning didn’t work well- that part would have been a lot more difficult to tolerate at a hotter time of year. There were so many positives on this stay though, it wasn’t really a big deal.

My stay here was so wonderful. I loved my room and the location of the hotel right on the beach was beautiful. The staff was incredible we especially loved Liv who made our experience personal and extra good. Definitely plan on staying here in future summers!
