Having visited a lot of pubs and being served really delicious food, we were disappointed about this place. The area is lovely, upon arrival, we were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff who showed us out to the back to the dining area. it is clean, comfortable I had a good atmosphere. That’s where our great experience ended. I ordered the pulled beef tacos with corn salsa and lime, and my husband ordered the half kilo chicken wings with a side of chips with roasted capsicum aioli. When it arrived, it looked great, but upon first tasting it, there was no taste. The pulled beef was very very dry (warmed up in the microwave from yesterday??) and yet when I picked up the taco to bite it, a lot of watery liquid leaked out, I assume from the corn, tomato and onion salsa that was also on the taco. No hint of lime in there. My husband said the chicken wings were very plain with some kind of brown sauce which was supposed to be smoky barbecue, there was neither smoky nor bbq taste about the sauce or the chicken wings. The chips were freshly fried and crunchy and the capsicum aioli was tasty too so they got that right. To be fair the previous day there had been some kind of music festival, so they may have been running on limited supplies, but we expected a higher standard of taste, based on a past experience of eating at pubs, which we have immensely enjoyed. At around $50 plus drinks we left quite dissatisfied. we would probably be willing to try again on another day when they had not been a larger than normal crowd dining there previously.
