Awful plumbing in the hotel. Our toilet would not flush for the 2 days we stayed here. We let the owner know immediately on the first day but it was not resolved during our stay. We were a tour group w 14 rooms and other rooms had the shower to overflow on the floor & AC drip from condensation on the floor. Others had to take cold showers. The outside garden is lovely as was the breakfast. Just a shame they have such poor plumbing. Check other reviews before booking to see if this issue is resolved. At this point, I would not recommend, unfortunately.

While the Greco Hotel has a lovely location near the heart of Hydra, it really needs to improve its facilities, amenities, and services. The rooms are spartan and the beds are hard as rocks. The bracket to hold the shower head was broken...so you needed to hold the shower head in your hand to shower. Other travelers in our group also had complaints about broken showers and leaking toilets. The breakfast was below average....with scrambled eggs put out on a plate so they were cold by the time you arrived to eat. The best part of the Greco was the location and the lovely outdoor courtyard full of flowers.

The courtyard very pretty, the location good but the bed is the worst thing I have ever tried to sleep on. It is so hard I am wondering if it is just the box springs? The shower drain so slow you worry it is going to flood the bathroom. The room has a fridge, ac and clean but not being able to sleep frustrating.

Greco Hotel was beautiful and had an outside courtyard where you had your complimentary breakfast. You could also sit there any time of the day and enjoy the lovely gardens around the table and chairs. We had a very nice room, spacious and bright. The breakfast was a feast!

Hotel Greco in Hydra, Greece, is a wonderful place to stay. The hotel features a beautiful outdoor sitting area adorned with vibrant flowers and a lovely garden, creating a serene and picturesque setting. Each morning, we enjoyed a great breakfast that set the perfect tone for the day. Highly recommended for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Visited Hydra on a day trip and having got lost in the back alleys found myself caught out. Expecting typical greek hospitality, asked if I could use the facilities only to be told an outright "no". I'd have been more than happy to pay a small sum but quite shocked by the reception. Not something I have come across anywhere else in Greece.

Room was average but the courtyard in front is great for reading, chatting, internet. Fun to sit and watch school kids walk by or horses carrying supplies or luggage. Good restaurant across the street allows you to avoid tourist crowds at the harbor. Far enough up the road, however, so you don’t get much “traffic.”
