This little guesthouse is simple but so well priced and met all our needs - mostly its close proximity (15 minutes walk) to both Honnura port area and the start of the Benesse house art zone, the main locations for the absolutely amazing art installations on Naoshima. Room was well sized, clean, secure and warm. The host was very friendly - he even gave us a lift into the Benesse area to give us a great head start on our day, and securely stored our luggage for the day. I would definitely stay here again. For those coming to Naoshima I would recommend staying 2 nights so you are not rushing your time on this beautiful serene island and make sure you book various galleries well in advance, they sell out even in off season!!

The climb from the port with our luggage was tough, but when we arrived, the view of the Seto Inland Sea from our room was amazing.

I stayed here alone. You can see it immediately to the left when you get off the station. It's very close! This time, I stayed in a separate type room for women only. The partition is made of cloth, so you need to be careful about noise, but it closes securely with a magnet so there is plenty of private space. The shared shower and sink were very clean and I was very satisfied! You can also get a voucher for the nearby hot spring facility, Tama no Yu, so you can take a bath there until 12:00 the next day.
