The Nantucket Hotel & Resort

We started our trip to beautiful Nantucket on an early ferry. Unknowingly, upon arrival we were greeted by the amazing John Santana at the front desk, who not only let us check in early, but had actually upgraded our room! We enjoyed all Nantucket and the hotel has to offer for New Years Eve, and treated ourselves to a delicious dinner at Breeze on New Years Day. The food and service was immaculate and would highly recommend a meal here for anyone looking for some of the best food on the island. Unfortunately, on our departure date we fell victim to high winds and loads of cancellations of ferries. Not only did John help/advise us on our next best steps to get home, but actually let us stay in our room for a later checkout until we had to leave. To John and the entire Nantucket Hotel staff, THANK YOU for an unforgettable experience and a fabulous start to 2025!

The Nantucket Hotel is wonderful, beautifully decorated, well appointed spa with a sauna, too! We really enjoyed our stay. Dinner was amazing and everyone super friendly. The rooms are amazing, couldn't have been more comfortable. Can't wait to come back.

Wow, where to begin. The room was not ready on time. We had to wait in the lobby for almost 30 minutes past check in time until it was ready. That seemed like ages after a long day of travelling. We were tired and just wanted to crash. No refreshments or even drinks were offered while we waited. The room's door is located *directly* in front of an AC vent, which was on, constantly, at full blast, blowing freezing air at the door. Not only was it loud enough to hear from inside the room, with the door closed, but it meant that every time one enters or leaves the room, one gets chilled to the bone. See photo #1. The room itself was nice and clean. The fireplace adds a nice touch. The bathroom, however, was not clean at all. There was a hair, presumably left behind by a previous guest, on the shower wall and another one on the ceiling (HOW?!). See photo #2. There were also small remnants of mold on the bathroom ceiling. See photo #3. The hot water temperature in the shower constantly fluctuates. You can feel it reach a higher temperature when you turn the dial all the way to the left, yet every time you do so, it goes back to lukewarm temperature after a few seconds and continues to do so throughout your entire time in the shower. The dial says 100 degrees, yet it feels like much less than that. The doorstop in the room is located so terribly and haphazardly that it was tripped over several times. It's right in front of the closet and active attention is required in order to not to step on it when accessing items in the closet, particularly the ironing board. I stubbed my toe so bad it ripped off a significant part of my toe nail. I called the front desk, asking for medical tape. They said they did not have medical tape available, which a basic and standard part of a first aid kit, only band-aids, which weren't useful in this instance. The room has no sound isolation whatsoever. We could hear creaking from the room above us every time the guests staying there took a single step on the floor. That actually woke us up multiple times over multiple nights. One of us slept under the pillow, the other one used earplugs. At some point I was woken up abruptly by incessant loud beeping from the adjacent room. I had to get up, get dressed and go outside to figure out what was going on. Saw a hotel staff member and asked him. He said it was a faulty smoke alarm. I told him I'm trying to sleep, his only reply was "I know, I know". Poor cleaning and lack of proper full aid supplies is simply unacceptable! The only positive aspects of our stay were the size of the bed, the amount of electrical and USB sockets and the friendliness of the staff. One of the worst hotel stays of our lives. We sent this review to the hotel, at their request, but haven't received any response yet. This was over two weeks ago.

We were fortunate to have the opportunity to stay here for the 50th anniversary of the Christmas Stroll, it was the best place to be! Location is convenient to town and our fav sandwich place Something Natural. No need for a car this trip. Extra special gift is the hotel has a generator!!!! Power outage from Friday thru Sunday put a damper on a lot of the downtown festivities yet we were unimpeded by the blACKout. The Mariner Jr Suite was clean, well appointed, and comfortable beyond belief. Staff was attentive and caring. Surely on our list of places to return to when we visit the Grey Lady again.

From the moment we reached the hotel to the moment we left we were treated in a first class manner. The hotel is centrally located, just a few minutes walk to the centre of town, and it’s a beautiful, well kept property. Beds are super comfy we slept like babies.The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. I had a luggage issue and John drove me back to the airport and waited patiently while I sorted it out. Gabe at the front door was friendly and we enjoyed chatting with him. The front desk staff were always amazing as well as the manager, John, at the restaurant. The food, by the way, was excellent. On our return to Nantucket - and we will be back - the Nantucket Hotel will be our #1 choice.

As always the Nantucket Hotel exceeds all expectations and proves to be the very best of the best! This amazing place is not just a hotel - it s a wonderful family of dedicated management and staff who go over and above for every single guest to make sure every stay is idyllic and restorative. My family has visited this beautiful establishment for over a decade and every year I think it can't get any better, and then lo and behold it does. Carlos & Fulya are an amazing team and with Carlos at the helm becoming the General Manager, the hotel has taken on an indescribable loveliness, comfort and pizzazz. Carlos is such an excellent leader and is clearly well respected by his staff. Fulya makes everyone feel welcome and is there from sun up to sun down treating every guest as if they are royalty. Her attention to subtle details and ability to come up with spectacularly creative ideas make her the gem of the resort. She is thoughtful, considerate, caring, kind, generous with her time and so pleasant and genuine with the guests. Of course Wayne, Frederick, Omar and the men of the resort add such joy and happiness to every visit. Always generous with a smile and an engaging conversation - and muscles to go along with their jovial personalities! The food is incredible but it's the men behind it that make it grand. It is such a joy to spend a fall vacation at the Nantucket Hotel. There's nowhere I'd rather visit! Thank you to the whole lovely and wonderful staff for giving my family time to reconnect and have fun!
