Black Beach Suites

If you're planning a trip along Iceland's South Coast, Black Beach Suites in Vík is an absolute must-stay. This boutique aparthotel exceeded all our expectations and was undoubtedly the highlight of our Ring Road adventure. The location is simply unbeatable. Perched with panoramic sea views, it's just a 5-minute drive from the world-famous Reynisfjara black sand beach. The views from our suite were spectacular. The suites themselves are beautifully designed, spacious, and impeccably clean. Ours featured a modern, luxurious feel, large windows to take in the scenery, and a very comfortable bed. The heated floors in the spacious bathroom were a welcome luxury during the cold night. A standout feature was the fully-equipped kitchen. Having the flexibility to prepare our own meals (with utensils, pots, and a microwave) was a huge plus, especially after a long day of exploring. Overall, Black Beach Suites offers incredible value. The combination of a prime location, stylish and clean rooms, and excellent facilities makes it the perfect base for exploring the South Coast. We highly recommend booking well in advance, as it's a popular choice for good reason. We can't wait to return!

We had a wonderful stay at Black Beach Suites—my family absolutely loved it. The rooms are beautifully designed, with a darker interior that likely helps reduce light pollution for aurora viewing. We were fortunate enough to see the northern lights twice—once right after checking in near the reception area, and again in the middle of the night. In addition, the views of the Reynisfjara black sand beach just behind the hotel are absolutely stunning and add so much to the overall experience. We were only able to book one night as the rest of the dates were fully taken, which honestly says a lot about how popular this place is. The staff were friendly and helpful, even while busy managing the bar. I asked one of the staff members about weather and driving conditions for the rest of our trip around Iceland, and she went out of her way to provide useful information. The only downside was the sofa bed, which had a noticeable large dip in the middle and was quite uncomfortable compared to the main beds. It may benefit from an upgrade or an alternative setup.

The check-in process was easy and quick. The staff showed us a map of the area and guided us to drive there. There’s a plenty of parking space outside the suite. The suite is well furnished and stylish - black and wooden brown are their main colors. The room is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped and we could easily cook there using their utensils (remember to buy all ingredients in Vik first - a 10-minute drive) However, the stability of hot water is very low and the temperature of hot water is not really hot. The hot towel rack isn’t working very well either… Also, It would be great if the front desk staff could tell us how to use the tap when checking in as there is a knob to be pulled (really hard) before water coming out.

One of the best hotel during our Iceland ring road travel. Room included kitchen with utensils and pots for simple cooking. Just need to open the door to avoid the food’s odour. We managed to view aurora just outside our room! One of the best aurora view.

fully equipped kitchen for all your cooking needs. the room is spacious and clean. you get a good sized living room and balcony. TV has netflix which we watched while waiting for the northern lights. the place is dark enough, away from city lights to see the lights with your eyes and cameras. super pleasant stay, easy check in and out. will highly recommend here!

We love this hotel. Views are very beautiful and very private. There is a heating bar in the toilet to help us dry our clothes. If breakfast could be provided, it would be perfect but we are happy nevertheless 😊
