Avra Mykonos

I must say it was a pleasure to stay at this hotel and the staff made the experience even more wonderful I will definitely go back! Nikki is the most kindhearted receptionist love her as well as the rest of staff just amazing Strongly recommend

We had a pool room for 5 nights. It had an excellent pool with views to the sunset. We would spend the day in town and then get back to the pool for a lovely cool dip. We also loved watching the ferries and cruise ships arrive and depart. Because the Avra is located at the New Port is a quieter than the busy village. This made for lovely peaceful nights. The breakfast is great. Eggs, cereal, fruit salad, croissants, muesli, specials, etc. The service is excellent. Super friendly staff and will help in any way they can. My only suggestion would be to add some shade to the outside area by the pool in room 2. It has a lovely sun bed area by the pool but it gets full sun. Some way to add shade, or part shade, would be amazing. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this stay to couples looking for a quieter romantic place in Mykonos..

Let’s address the elephant in the room – the location isn’t in Mykonos Town per say, which has to be accessed by a €10 taxi (which reception will order for you, and there’s a bustling taxi station right in the centre of the town) or else a sea bus (a lovely and quick ride albeit a 10-minute walk on a footpath-less road to the departure point at the New Port). You couldn’t safely walk to the town despite it being a mere kilometre away as the crow flies – the road is too windy and dangerous with massive lorries whizzing past. But where the Avra makes up for it is price, service and the room. We were coming to the end of our trip a low on funds, and given how expensive Mykonos can be (€9 bottles of beer and €25 shots of whiskey) we were glad the hotel had a comparatively low price point, and were generally happy to make the trip back-and-forth. They even upgraded our room to give us a sea (and New Port) view complete with ocean liners the size of apartment blocks, though do yourself a favour and splash out for a room with a mini pool – we were extremely envious of our neighbours below when the day was at its hottest. The room was modern, spotless and so well-designed. Both the air con and the waterfall-headed shower were strong, there was a mini fridge, desk and TV with some English channels. We watched Erin Brockovich while chowing down on €9 wraps from the nearby Cantina – a delivery order that Odysseus on reception called in on our behalf, and which arrived in minutes. Breakfast was nice albeit basic enough with croissants, ham, cheese, omelets, cereal and coffee. The bar was limited though we got a strong rum and Coke which was nice. There’s also a small but very good supermarket beside the Cantina restaurant where we got our water, beers (Mythos and Alpha FTW) and snacks. All the staff were so friendly at all times and worked so hard to ensure we’d everything we needed. Special thanks to Odysseus, Kalypso, and Maria who kindly dropped us to the port on the day we were getting the boat back to Athens. A great option at a great price point considering the small trade-off.

My husband and I stayed here May 2022 and we could not fault it! The room is modern and spotless, very comfortable bed and ample amenities. Breakfast was a selection of freshly cooked to order eggs/bacon, croissants and the usual cereals, cheese and meats, with fresh orange juice and a variety of coffees. We stayed in one of the rooms with a private pool which I would highly recommend - fantastic view of the port and sunset! For us the location was perfect. It is only a few minutes drive into Mykonos town or even better, you can catch the sea ferry just across the road for €2 which is what we did! The staff here are super welcoming and really made our stay special at Avra. An extra thank you to Kalypso for researching boat trips for us, recommending beach’s to visit and arranging our late check out. We will be recommending Avra to all our friends and family and can’t wait to return!

I caunt fault my stay at Avra. The hotel was very comfortable, the price very good value, and the location was ideal for me. High praose for Kalypso and Maria Sofia especially who were extremely helpful in a pinch: I couldn't recommend the place highly enough

I had a very good time in this Hotel, beautiful location overlooking the sea, excellent service, an excellent team led by the beautiful Miss Kalypso, a very nice person and very careful to make you feel at the maximum relaxation. I recommend it to the great connoisseurs of this wonderful island
