Safari Island

Just returned from Safari Island & we had the most amazing time. The Island is so beautiful, snorkelling was amazing, so many fish, seen white & black tipped sharks, manta rays and sea turtles. The staff are so friendly and helpful. You are assigned a table in the restaurant & have the same server the whole time. Naseem was wonderful, drinks waiting on the table when we sat down. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return.

Well this is a wonderful small island that I had the pleasure of having a 10 night stay on. Previous request for a beach bungalow near to facilities due to mobility issues was take into account and we were in beach bungalow 107 that was very close to reception, bars, pool and restaurant. Bungalow was clean, if a little dark but it was well furnished and comfortable bed. Nice modern bathroom with rain shower or bath with hand held shower. Nice soft towels and really nice toiletries. Shampoo that really did lather and shower gel that moisturised as well as washed your body, Conditioner(not used) all presented in dispenser bottles that look like Molton Brown bottles. Tea and coffee, fridge that is replenished daily with 500ml of bottled water. You can ask for 1.5lt bottles from the main bars. We we All inclusive so were able to take away 4 cans of soft drinks or beer per day to our room. Food was lovely , always plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I didnt personally like the cakes, they were a little dry for me but not an issue I had fresh fruit and there was a small variety of alternatives but cake was the main desserts. You are allocated a table for your stay and the same waiter. We had a wonderful waiter called Abdul Latheef, he always made time to have a chat and always greeted us with a smile and he deserves a special mention. All the staff were very attentive and they couldn't do enough for you. I know that is what they are supposed to do but on this island it felt like a genuine greeting , not just what they are trained to do as part of their hospitality. There is a pool bar that has a lot of shaded areas with tress and shrubs and can always catch a breeze and the beach is behind so can swim among the reef sharks and have a drink afterwards. The main bar that has a deck walk is very relaxing and again always a breeze to be found to keep you cool. House reef is wonderful. Most people went off of the jetty behind the the restaurant it has stairs into the water and the reef edge. There are other entry points but I didnt use them. Abundance of fish, sharks, 2 turtles . We saw rays about 5 of them in a group but only from the restaurant when eating. We always try to find an island with a house reef and this island did not disappoint. The reef is wonderful and I would recommend this island to anyone who like us love to snorkel. There is a dive centre but we did not us it so cannot comment. This is a lovely island, compact and eveything is only a small walk away and the bars and restaurant are located in the same area of the island which makes eveything easy to access. I have been to 5 other Islands over the years and this is No2 on my best islands to visit. I would return there in a heartbeat. I could go on and on about the wonderful island but the above I think covers what a review needs to include. If any questions I ma happy to answer.

Very Beautiful and so clean. Very Peaceful resort. Everything is very good. Very yummy food. Very nice staffs. A lot of fish and baby shark here. The Manta ray cames to say hello in front of our villa 😍. It was a perfect trip. We will come back soon.

We had a wonderful stay. The service crew were attentive and friendly, and the cleanliness was top-notch. I highly recommend booking the water bungalow for an amazing sunrise view from the room. The ladder from each balcony leading directly into the ocean was a delightful feature. We loved it and will definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Overall a wonderful experience with amazing view, staff and service. The rooms are clean and spacious and the housekeeping service is prompt and through. A sufficient variety of optional tours for us be sign up for during our stay and the price is reasonable. Though the resort serves halal food, they also have pork options which is clearly labeled so just be sure to check. Breakfast and dinner spread was the pretty similar during the whole stay They only provided 2 small bottles a f water daily and everything else we had to purchase because we opted for half-board

we flew out from Heathrow to Doha and from Doha to male and then we caught the sea plane. First impressions of the island was breathtaking. We got upgraded our room which we were quite impressed because we ordered a deluxe bungalow and we got half each half villa which was lovely. Couldn’t fault it. I was just expecting a bit more in the room, other than tea, coffee, and water for the amount we paid to be fair it was a lovely island and the staff couldn’t do enough for us but I just felt it lacked vibes. I know not everyone wants music but one night of music within a fortnight of being there was just ridiculous. The beach was beautiful but again lacked no shade if you went on the beach and no decent sunbeds, we didn’t want to stay in our room 24 seven the food was amazing but yet again I would preferred table service and to be honest I was expecting premium drinks. We had to pay extra for them and the boat trips we wanted to go on one but you needed a minimum of 10 people and there was enough people there to go on the boat trip so felt I was let down by that as well also to pay extra for a beach barbecue, again you paid for that Holiday, why couldn’t you have the beach barbecue as an incentive for booking there? To be honest? It has put meoff the Maldives. i know it’s about peace and quietness but it was just a little bit too quiet for my liking. I’m 63 years of age. I just don’t want to sit around all day doing nothing.

Our stay here was lovely and relaxing. We love the Maldives and have been to a few islands, always going to different ones. We chose Safari because it was a small Island, the reef looked good and we did half board + which was ideal, basically buffet breakfast, evening meal, buffet style and all inclusive drinks and snacks were provided during the day which were toasted sandwiches and fries and cake. A cheaper option to do and we never went hungry. We had a beach bungalow which was lovely, with loungers to sit outside with and also sun loungers for on the beach. Plenty of tea and coffee were provided and water, but you could get water or cans of beer or pop and bring them to your room. It would have been nice if the bathroom had outside area and shower, like some other islands, but I would still definitely recommend this island. The reef sharks were the biggest we have ever seen, which was great for snorkelling. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and are a credit to the island

We’ve just returned from a wonderful trip to Safari Island. The main reason we visit the Maldives is for the snorkelling and the tranquility. The resort is a 25 minute flight by seaplane from Male. The standout point from the holiday is the house reef, which is easily accessible from the jetty and from the water bungalows. The reef was literally about 25m from our bungalow. We’ve visited a number of resorts in the Maldives over the years and this is the best reef for variety of fish which included many sharks, rays and turtles and a wealth of Maldivian reef fish. The water was clear with great visibility and the currents were not too strong. We also went on the Manta trip which suggests a 50% chance of seeing Manta’s and we hit the jackpot. Other good points are the Thai Duny Spa, prices are reasonable and the treatments are good and the staff are nice, we went twice during our stay. The staff at the resort are very friendly and courteous and the island has a very relaxed vibe. Don’t visit if you’re looking for entertainment and multiple dining options. The food is of a decent standard and there are plenty of options for breakfast lunch and dinner. We found that the restaurant could get rather hot but it seems to depend on where you’re seated and where the wind is coming from. The rooms are a good size with everything you need and effective A/C which was important as it was very hot and humid whilst we were there. Some of the resort is a little tired and could do with updating. Also this is not a resort for children or people with limited mobility.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff on Safari island. Everything was perfect - if I have to be critical in areas there’s room for improvement (woods very worn). But I personally felt it added to the charm and real remote Island feel. Had a semi water bungalow and three steps out back door on beach and steps down into the ocean off a private sun deck other side. Great option of food and drink and real feeling of paradise and happiness all around. Went on dolphin sunset cruise and saw pods swimming off our island and regularly small reef sharks and 100s of fish around our bungalow. It feels like your in heaven
