If you want a cozy, comfy hotel located in the heart of old town Munich, Hotel Lux is the place to stay. Almost anything you want to see is located within walking distance. If it’s not, the U-bahn and the S-bahn are easily accessible in the Marienplatz right around the corner. Sure, there’s some noise at night from the bar downstairs, but it’s not bad and we slept well. In the mornings, we had a gourmet breakfast in the bar and it was incredible. The hosts are super sweet and will help you with anything you need. The next time we are in Munich, we won’t consider staying anywhere other than Hotel Lux.

Lovely boutique hotel. Perfect location. I searched for a mid price, well reviewed, walking distance from Marienplatz, hotel and was delighted with our choice. Easy walk from the subway, friendly English checkin, cozy bar, clean room, comfortable bed, bright windows and coffee! Yes we knew it had no elevator and we intentionally traveled with backpacks, not suitcases for the trip. The 4 flights up the circular staircase weren’t daunting but we didn’t do them any more than we had too. We had a delightful stay. Highly recommend.

The hotel staff are excellent. From checking in on Christmas and meeting Katharina to our departure three days later —- all hotel staff were kind, caring, and helpful. We arrived at around 8:00 pm on Christmas and Katharina had put a bottle of wine and water in our rooms as a thoughtful gift. Morning staff were also very friendly— making custom coffee drinks included in a nice made to order breakfast. The BUT and average rating is because as others have mentioned this hotel has no elevator, no front desk, noise (a LOT on weekends), and, in some rooms, the smallest bathrooms humanly possible. The location, wonderful staff, and price make this a hotel option for some but not everyone.

Absolutely brilliant location. Smack back by Marienplatz, the Market, Hofbrauhaus -and stacks of bars, restaurants and other tourist sites. Ready close to U-Bahn station too so very easy to get around Munich. Room was quite small but compensated by location. No aircon or lift. Bar staff were very helpful.

Great staff, very welcoming, and PERFECT location. Breakfast was wonderful and the room was a great value for this part of town. Can walk to practically everything! Had to climb some steps but no problem and would certainly stay here again!

Amazing location in the heart of old town. Hofbrauhaus and Marienplatz are merely steps away! However, the bar is open until 2am most nights and we were given a room on the second floor just above the bar/night club. The manager moved us to the fourth floor for our 3 remaining nights as we did not sleep at all the first night and missed our tickets to the castles. The stairs are not too bad, but it’s the only option We were not offered any drink discounts/coffee/etc. Room was nothing special and would not stay again

Restaurant review... Beautiful decor, good food, cozy, but deliberately rude service. We've been here a few times on trips to Munich and enjoyed. Made an early reservation for dinner. We entered to find the server making fun of husband for using his translation app on menu which also has an English side. No biggie. Kinda funny but instead of letting it go. Which we did. He seemed peeved at us for simply being there. Great cocktail. good main...zero effort service. Deliberate avoidance even though we were three feet away from him prepping fruit at bar. No offer of anything else for a very long time. Having read reviews there seem to be a few with similar experience. Too bad.

First floors facing the internal yard was a little noisy but bed was comfortable and room was simple but clean and comfortable. No reception...but friendly bartender checks you in and out...she even offered me a good cappuccino. Great location
