One of the most enjoyable hotels I have ever stayed. Great services and amenities. Loved the pool. Breakfast was excellent in a beautiful little courtyard. Will surely stay again if we visit the area.

It is beyond my reckoning why this hotel is listed as a four star venue. In my wife and my opinions this is at least a 5* hotel. We stayed in the largest suite, The Bastidon which one enters thru a huge ancient wooden door. You then walk in to a massive garden courtyard surrounded by flowers and views of the surrounding area. When we walked in to the suite its beauty took our breath away. We have stayed in fantastic suites as we have traveled over the decades. The Bastidon suite was simply the most gorgeous room with designer furniture, great art work, a huge living room, a large bedroom with king bed and a bathroom to die for. We were in the Verdon gorge area of Provence for only a day and one half so we could only stay one night at the Bastide. However, the manager was kind enough to include breakfast for two in the price of the room. The outdoor breakfast area was very zen and the food was great. The hotel is located in the gorgeous mountain town of Moustiers Sainte -Marie and is very convenient to exploring the gorge area for hiking and kayaking. It should be noted that the hotel also has a Michelin star restaurant. We highly recommend this great hotel!

Very nice place however someone should have warned us the crime down at the boat launch at the Verdone river Since it has been a on going occurrence no one likes to speak about it. Electronically open your car, 2 Chanel purses 600 cash and iPhone I told my wife it was safe to. Leave in the car. Last time I wrote a review last oct it was denied to be posted It was odd the young man who told us about the river did not show up to work the next day. Since he was a seasonal employee. Also the hotel asked for info to shut down her phone thru Apple and verizon which shortly later my phone started to receive fraud text for info regarding our account Dan hickey

What a wonderful place. So peaceful and serene. The grounds were beautiful and the staff were so wonderful and friendly. The atmosphere was terrific and the food was amazing. So glad we stayed here.

This was our favorite hotel of our recent 2 week trip to France, and, our biggest regret is that we did not stay longer! Book at least 2 nights to be able to enjoy the pool, grounds, restaurant, and relax. We were greeted at the gate by lovely staff, who then assisted with our luggage while we parked. We were given a tour and warmly welcomed. We stayed in the lavendar room, and, it was absolutely lovely. They did have washcloths (which we found not all hotels did), and, we were given lovely night shirts to wear during our stay. We inadvertently did not have a reservation for dinner, and they were able to help us with this. We thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. Additionally, we rented the hotel's electric boat on the lake, and it was lovely. We rented for 1 hour and enjoyed driving around the gorge and lake. There are other electric boats available for rent at the lake, but I think the hotel's boat looked a bit more comfortable. Lastly, Moustiers-Saint-Marie itself is an absolute gem. We will be back to stay!

The room was very nice decorated, with our own terrace. The gardens from le bastide with all the herbs are wonderful. Unfortunately we had a lot of flies in the room and it was difficult to get the right temperature. The bathroom had a shower in the bath, which was n’t very comfortable while the bathroom was very big. The beds were perfect. All in all we had a pleasant stay.

Very disappointing experience Hotel is very outdated. We came since we were interested in dining in the restaurant, but only found out a few day before it will now be open the night we arrive. Would not chose the hotel or recommend it if not dining in. Also, would expect a much dated look. It really feels run down. We came back from town at 8:00. Kitchen was closed and nothing to offer next to the coffee which I would expect from that kind of hotel to offer minimal snacks to accommodate guests that arrive late or still hungry since it’s not a walking distance of anything that might offer that service. Staff was very friendly and unfortunately this is the only thing I can say positive. About this stay. Reminded us of hotels we stayed in 30 years ago while visiting France.

Lovely inn with spacious rooms with elegant country decor. Fantastic restaurant by Alain Ducasse with multi course dinner and full breakfast. Beautiful property and pool close to Gorges du Verdon for hiking or kayaking.
