Ikos Oceania

I don’t often leave trip advisor reviews (which I should as I use it so much before booking anywhere!) but I had to write a review about our amazing experience at Ikos Oceania. This is our first visit to any of the Ikos hotels and I don’t think we’ll be going anywhere else in the future. It is the most incredible luxurious holiday with outstanding service and food. I have never experience 5 star service like at Ikos Oceania, the staff here cannot do enough for you to make sure you have the most relaxing holiday. The food has been incredible in every restaurant (book the al a carters before you arrive), but we have to say the buffet is also fab and just as perfect especially with kids. My 6 year old daughter has loved the kids club here and actually asks to go every day. The staff are incredible in there and don’t just keep them indoors, they take them outside to play, even in the baby pool for a splash about and games which we love as it’s such variety for her, which is why she loves it so much. We have also used the crèche for our 21 month old which again is just amazing and he loves the variety in there. Special shout out to Diana and Sofia who are make the kids feel so welcome! All in all this has to be our favourite holiday ever and I cannot recommend highly enough. We will definately be back again and again : )

This is our third visit and every one has been great. We usually do adults only but the recommendations we had received made us decide to give it a go and they were right. The staff are excellent and make the holiday but special mention must go to 2 things. The food and the yoga! We make a point of getting around all the restaurants and the standards are maintained every year. Great food and wine list means we’ve never had a bad meal. We do yoga every morning and Martha is fantastic, My wife is an experienced yoga practitioner but I’m fairly new yet the class is well managed and we are both challenged with it still being enjoyable and it leaves you feeling great and ready for a day around the adults only pool being served drinks by Eva only broken up by a visit to the main pool to do water aerobics with Nicole! I’m sure visit 4 is on the cards at some point….

1st time visit to a IKOS branded hotel and we can confirm / agree with the majority of the review comments that this is an excellent hotel with really attentive staff service, cleanliness, amazing food and drink and a really great ambience / feel The large cliff waterfalls near the pool areas are a lovely feature/ picture opportunity and the views of the Aegon sea from the main reception / majority of the rooms really are stunning both in the say and night. We would recommend this hotel for a amazing break Some points to note that may be useful. - Transfer time from the airport is approx 1 hour -The majority of the bathrooms have a combined bath / walk over shower so may not be suitable for people with special assistance requirements - a physical driving licence card is required for Tesla day hire - we did not bring ours so were unable to make use of the vehicle - book your 3 restaurants in advance to ensure you have some of  your preferred dining choices/ times during your stay - all A la carte meals are of very high standard.  Breakfast at Ouzo was particularly pleasing with stunning views. - Don't forget to try the local Greek restuarant under the dine around programme - again excellent quality food and drink -  Sauna and Spa offerings (non treatments) are of a very good standard as is the indoor pool - When weather isn't great then the indoor hotel areas can become very busy with guest and feel congested. - hotel is very tailored for young children esp under 4/5 years old...staff really do go out of their way to make young families feel comfortable and relaxed - Tourist tax at the hotel applied at check out. Approx 15 euro per night charge. In terms of improvements, the hotel should consider how they can reduce food and drink waste as a lot of drink bottles (e.g wine) were half opened and we were told these were then thrown away. Surely there can be more sustainable ways to make use of the excess food/ drink. E.g offer to staff at the end of the night. One for the hotel to consider to improve sustainability and reduce waste Special thanks to main reception barman Christos who made my wife her favourite cocktail Koko Loco which was not on the menu (but prob should be now!!l)

The staff, food and drinks are excellent and the holiday was amazing. The staff in the restaurants, at the pool, in the bars, at the beach and in the kids club will help with absolutely anything and are a joy to be around. All of the food is delicious and high quality. Every single restaurant is lovely and it’s hard to choose a preferred place to eat. The drinks are also great and the kids loved the mocktails and milkshakes whilst we loved the wine and the different cocktails. There could be a wider selection of zero sugar drinks but the staff will create something if you ask. The kids club made great connections with the kids and there were lots to f varied activities. We always let our children decide themselves whether they want to go and our little girl always chose to. One day we didn’t book her in on time and when a space came available they came to collect her from where we were in the resort. Amazing service. The team have also been brilliant after the holiday as I had some queries. Elsa has been great!

This was the 3rd Ikos hotel we have stayed in over the last 18 months but the first on a Deluxe basis. Our room was beautiful overlooking the deluxe pool and the ocean beyond. Spotlessly clean with an evening turn down service. There are 5 restaurants on site- 4 of which are a la carte. The standard of food in the a la carte restaurants are fabulous . The food in the buffet restaurant is really good too but being honest, we kind of avoided it. Even though this is a family hotel with some designated adult only areas, the high ceilings in the Flavours buffet mean that the sound in this area is amplified and it feels very school canteen ish - even in the adults only areas. That said, it wasn't a big deal for us as the choice of other options is so good. Service by the deluxe pool area was seamless and discrete. The food choices there for lunch are wonderful. The staff there are brilliant- nothing is too much trouble which made for a great experience. The online concierge what'sapp group was so quick and convenient but again, all underpinned by fantastic staff. The staff here without exception are the jewel in the crown of this hotel. There are a couple of stand out mentions: Despina at the deluxe pool is a bundle of professional, knowledgeable fun. Her cocktail and food recommendations are sensational and should be on the menu for sure. Maryna who was our deluxe concierge was also excellent . From her initial checking in with us on arrival to her daily check ups just seeing if there was anything else we needed ( we never did) she was flawless. If Ikos does employee of the month, these two ladies would definitely be worthy winners. We wouldn't hesitate to come here again but it would be just perfect if there was a designated adult only area in each of the a la carte restaurants.

Our room (2114) was nice but was in no way suitable for a toddler. The garden was at the top of a very steep edge and next to a communal area. The communal area has glass barriers/balcony all around it due to the drop but our garden was not secured in the same way. This meant our toddler could walk onto the outside of the barrier/balcony (essentially the side where he would fall straight down) or through the toddler sized hole in the hedge and down a steep drop or through to any of the other gardens. We reported this and they put a new hedge in and some temporary barriers. The hedge filled the hole but the barriers were easily moved by our toddler. The front door was also easily opened by our little one so he could run straight out. They put a temporary catch on the inside after me asking and then chasing 2 days later but he still managed to open the door. I’d love to give a higher rating but we weren’t able to use the room fully (unable to use the garden at all) and weren’t able to relax in the room. I’d advise anyone staying in room 2114 or other rooms on that level to check the gardens before letting their little ones use them and I have advised the hotel that the rooms are not suitable for toddlers or young children. Hopefully they will make the gardens more secure and less dangerous or avoid putting families in those rooms .
