This hotel is in a very beautiful location but sadly, tired and dated. The spa area was rather good but there seemed to be an absence of staff there. A warning, we had booked a suite which turned out to be on two floors and rather difficult to manage if you aren’t good with stairs. The furniture and curtains were old and the carpets looked dirty. The bathroom had a very narrow bath/shower, no slip mats or grab handles. The room rate is very expensive for what you get, ‘certainly’ not value for money. I would not recommend this hotel.

The photos of Belle Etoile on the website are very misleading. This is one of four self catering apartments adjacent to the hotel and is certainly not 4 star accommodation. Belle Etoile is a duplex and downstairs is dark and dreary with two single beds (one of which is under the staircase) where there should be proper lounge seating. The dining table is crammed into the kitchen area leaving barely any room for movement. Glass panes were cracked and some lights not working. After promising they would move us to another apartment, a member of staff then back-tracked and became rather defensive. He seemed more concerned that I would write a comment on Trip Advisor than actually trying to address our concerns. We were so disappointed that we barely spent any time there - we had booked 7 nights.

Just returning home from another (perhaps our 4th or 5th trip) thoroughly enjoyable couple of days here. Lovely, helpful staff as always. Exceptionally clean rooms with beautiful linens. We enjoyed time by the pool and using the spa facilities. The Sunday brunch was amazing as was breakfast. Looking forward to our next visit!

We checked into this hotel in September right on the banks of the Loire in Monstoreau. We were warmly welcomed by Victor and allocated a beautiful room to the front of the house and overlooking the river. We worried as this was on the road it would be noisy but it was peaceful with excellent glazing and we slept peacefully in a beautifully comfortable bed. The bathroom with separate toilet was big, plenty of space for everything. Breakfast was plentiful, and delicious, they do not have a restaurant, but there are a number in the surrounding area which are listed in the room. Their Wellness area is here is one the best I’ve ever experienced, the calmness of the Hammam, indoor pool/jacuzzi, sauna and steam room just made a calm day even more calm. Outside the wellness area are lovely gardens for a glass of wine, cup of tea/coffee in complete peace. We wanted to stay another night but, alas there was no room!! There was a festival in Saumur just a few kilometres away and it was such fun, tasty nibbles and wine-tasting + crafts and even choirs, not to mention boat trips on the traditional boats of the area. An excellent market took place in the village square on the Saturday. I could count on the fingers of one hand the amount of hotels to which I would return in France and this is one of them….we look forward to visiting again. Thank you to the whole team for the welcome and friendliness. We arrived as guests and we left as friends.

Stayed here for two nights whilst cycling in the Loire Valley. Beautiful room overlooking the garden, lovely swimming pool, great breakfast, great location and good bike parking. Special mention must go to the gentleman who checked us in at reception-he couldn’t have been more accommodating-an exceptional member of staff-I think his name was Victor.

We spent two nights here on our cycling tour of the Loire with our two children. Perfect suite where they had twin beds in a separate room. Plus they loved the pool after a day's cycling. The staff were super accommodating, providing dinner in the garden when all the local restaurants were booked up. Would love to return.

Excellent hotel in the beautiful town of Montsoreau. Stayed 5 nights in 3 different apartments (for reasons not the fault of the hotel): each one has its own signature decor which we loved. Well-provisioned kitchenettes, beautiful bathrooms and very comfy king-size beds. Staff are consummate professionals and Caroline, the owner, went above and beyond to resolve an issue due to the bakery next door. She is amazing! Pool and garden is fabulous - perfect spot to relax and cool down after sightseeing. Cannot recommend this charming hotel (or its staff) highly enough.

Just perfect. Very caring and dedicated staff. Design and Layout of the Hotel are interesting and rare. A total gem. The breakfast was various and fresh. Went for a visit to Tours and Orleans. Both cities worth seeing.

Comme promis, nouvelle visite dans cet établissement qui nous avait vraiment enchanté l'an passé. La patronne, si gentille, était vraisemblablement absente, accueil par une dame (également charmante) et un "petit jeune" (j'y reviendrai). Toujours une belle chambre, un bon petit déjeuner (copieux et varié), la partie SPA (sauna, hammam, piscine intérieure, salle de détente, etc.), tout a vraiment été parfait. Toutefois, en ce qui concerne la partie SPA, celle-ci ouvre le matin à 9h. Suite à ma remarque (au fameux "petit jeune") signalant qu'à 9h15, il fait 25% dans le sauna et que le hammam est froid, il avait deux options de réponse : - Désolé, nous ne démarrons les installations qu'à 9h ,donc il faut mieux y aller après 9h30, le temps que ça chauffe; - Tout le monde se doute bien qu'en ouvrant à 9h, le sauna ne peux pas être chaud à 9h15, c'est la première fois que j'ai cette remarque ! Inutile de préciser quelle option il a choisi, même si la première était plus polie et commerçante. Mis à part ce gros manque de professionnalisme de sa part, cet établissement est vraiment super et mérite le détour (même si ma note passe du "excellent" de l'an passé au "très bien", et pour cause)
