St. Cyrus Village Inn

The hotel was easy to find and in a nice location and has lots of parking at the rear of the hotel with a couple of spaces at the front. When I arrived the check in was quick and the girl behind the bar took me to the room. The room itself was fine although in my view needed a little updating but it wasn’t too bad. The bathroom is on the smaller side and I did find the shower was a little too small when trying to wash but I managed. You have to remember it’s a 3 star not 5 star so I would say in light of everything a good 3 star. The only comment I would make is that I found the room cold, possibly around 15C. Maybe it was just the time of year and it was a colder day and the heating wasn’t quite caught up yet. I had a look for a radiator or something to heat it up but couldn’t see anything. I prefer sleeping in a cool room around 18-19C but it was cooler than I would normally have. Once in bed I soon warmed up and the bed was comfortable which meant a good nights sleep. I arrived later in the evening and about an hour before the food stopped so headed down to eat. The food was incredibly good and home cooked and plentiful and is definitely good value. The breakfast next day was also really good and sets you up for the day. It’s worth coming just for the food. I only seen 2 staff members for the short time I was there but the young girl in the evening was extremely pleasant and very helpful as was the lady at breakfast. I would definitely return.

We dropped in for a much needed pub lunch after a family trip to the beautiful beach at St cyrus. We were not disappointed. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The menu catered to all budgets and generations!! Food was fantastic. All 3 generations agreed!!

Great Hotel serving wonderful food.would be so nice if there was a nice area to sit out the back as there seems to be enough room. The hotel is situated near a beautiful nature reserve with stunning beach reached by a well maintained wooden bridge called Bridge over the river Why as it was built years ago by the ghourka soldiers.
