Hôtel du Grand Lac Excelsior

The location is convenient. We always gotten a very spacious room and bathroom, the lake view is just stunning, comfortable bed and the service is great. This time we stayed there to visit the popular Christmas market and as always we were happy with the choice

Very friendly, kind, helpful staff. Beautiful decor. Fabulous location. Breakfast was delicious. We had the pool and sauna to ourselves. I loved the furniture and romantic style of the building. Parking is on street and the front desk were helpful in explaining / providing a permit

Reception...excellent service very friendly , Room ....perfect lake view, nice and quite,confortable bed. Good breakfast.Hotel is in centre very easy to go around Montreux. Very clean ,for sure we will be back..........Thanks to all.

This hotel is beautiful. She’s a grand old lady with charm and luxury. We loved everything about it. The rooms are big, yes the furniture is from a gone age but we loved it and wouldn’t want any changes. The balconies are to die for. That view of lake Geneva and the Alps 😍 The reception areas are gorgeous. Breakfast room is a delight. There’s an Apple Pc with games for the kids. Every morning there was free fresh flavoured tea in reception. The pool is lovely. It’s accessible from level -2 from reception. There is no toilets in the pool area. Remember to nip in the ones on -2 before you get the final life down to -3 and the pool. There are pool towels down there and a sauna. The promenade to Montreux is accessible from a different lift to -3. It’s a beautiful walk. Reception staff are lovely especially Diana who we loved and was so helpful. If you need a kettle ask at reception but you need to pop down later to pick one up. I asked housekeeping for more pillows. They were also very nice. We will definitely be back. It was our third stay here. So sad to have to leave.

Amazing staff, very friendly and helpful. The pool is brilliant, clean warm and the view from it is amazing. The location is brilliant about a ten min walk to the town centre. They give you a bus/train pass for the whole city area so you don't have to pay anything. They run every ten mins. The room was very big, family of 4, and lovely and warm. Came with a fridge, only thing missing was a kettle.

We had a fantastic stay at Hôtel du Grand Lac Excelsior. The first thing that struck us was how helpful and friendly the staff were, nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel itself was clean, there were areas that possibly could be updated, like the carpets in the corridors, but I'm being picky there really, because it didn't affect our stay, and the overall decoration of the hotel was beautiful. We stayed in a suite and it was perfect for our family of four, it was comfortable, with two bathrooms, a sliding door onto the garden, and it was very cosy. The location is the real drawing point, eating breakfast at a window with views of Lac Léman and mountains was breathtaking, I've never had such a beautiful view when eating before. My 5 year old daughter said it was the 'best day of her life'! High praise from this family, and we can't wait to return!
