Polkerris Bed & Breakfast

This place is one of the best experiences I have ever had at any BnB or hotel. The care and service they give is top notch, you feel like family as a guest. This was my first time to Jamaica and I would have no problem coming back alone. As a female you think about safety first and let me tell you this place is like Fort Knox, I never thought about locking the 2nd lock on my door and this is a first for me and I’m 50 years young. Laura, Peter and Elaine are now family to me and we love Terri also. I haven’t had someone in my room to clean, if I’m not there for the last 25years. But I had no problem letting them be in my room for any reason even with my passport out and money I never felt anxious or cautious. The breakfast was cooked to order hot and fresh, I don’t eat many carbs but those dumplings are to die for, we ate them everyday. This place is clean to perfection and they are walking distance to everything, restaurants, Doctors cave beach, nightclubs and shopping. You won’t regret staying here. We spent 4 days here and then went to Negril to stay in a luxury penthouse at a resort and we wanted to come back to the Polkerris. Lastly the air conditioner in the room is everything you go from an oven to a refrigerator, it was hard to leave the room sometimes.

Absolutely loved our time here! The view of the mountain and ocean are amazing! Our room was very clean, the staff there are extremely friendly and helpful, even arranged for a driver to take us to and from the airport. The breakfast is wonderful! It will fill you up so you may skip lunch. The two private pools and amenities are top notch! Do yourself a favor and book your stay here, you won't be disappointed!

OMGOODNESS this is a TOTAL do-over. There is NOTHING not to love here! Laura & Ramon were the best hosts, rest of the staff so friendly and accommodating! View was outstanding & the FOOD for breakfast on my!

If you are interested in an alternative to the cookie cutter resort experience I would highly recommend Polkerris. The staff was excellent. Our room and view was great. We loved the pool. Our daily breakfast was very hearty and true Jamaican cuisine provided by the facility owned Pelican restaurant. Every morning breakfast was served on the second floor atrium with a beauty view of the ocean. The drivers arranged by the facility were top notch and we felt very much taken care of. This is a family owned facility and the owners went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to ensure that everything met our expectations. I believe there are less than 10 rooms in the entire facility so you will not have to deal with large crowds and it is very unlikely you'll have any noise issues. We bonded very well with the other guests staying at Polkerris and had very pleasant conversations with them during our daily breakfast. We even enjoyed a day trip together to see some of the popular tourist sites in Jamaica (i.e riding horses at the beach, jumping in the water at the Blue Hole, visiting the Luminous Lagoon, etc.). The trip was led by our driver/tour guide Michael who the hotel put us in touch with. The only thing missing is that I wish Polkerris had a small exercise room on site, but they have a game room which was enjoyable (pool table, ping pong, air hockey, video games, etc). Otherwise, this is a great bed and breakfast and I highly recommend it!

Excellence personified! From the rooms, through to food, service, views - Polkerris is a hidden Jamaican gem! Definitely worthy of 4*/5* rating. Having stayed at 4* and 5* hotels with lunch and dinner included, Polkerris is in a league of its own. Laura, Shirlette, and Christal are sweethearts. The rest of the crew and family are simply great.

Peter was amazing! The room was very nice and clean. I came for business and Peter was really accommodating to my schedule. I was very comfortable throughout my entire stay. The breakfast was unbelievably delicious and the view from the B&B was also amazing especially during early mornings & sunsets. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

I wonder why Polkerris isn’t rated as 5 star? Spotless and tasteful rooms , dreamy outdoor area . It’s a beautiful property with Laura the host going over and above with the personal touch, suggestions on restaurants etc. Crystal and Charlotte are two gems, extremely pleasant and nothing is too much trouble for them . I found my piece of Paradise here , and long to return .

Beautiful! Everything you see in photos is just as it is in real life. Crystal (my namesake) and Charolette are so nice. They serve you an awesome breakfast to start your day! A true American or Jamaican meal. Starting with coffee or tea and juice. Followed by a plate of fresh fruit and then a hearty plate. Me I chose a combination. Fresh fish, callaloo, plaintains and scrambled eggs with cheese. Sounds strange but beyond delicious. My only suggestions would be during midday would have been nice to listen to Caribbean music while lounging poolside with perhaps flotation devices . Family owned, they take very good care of their properties.

An outstanding stay at Polkerris B&B from arrival to departure the holiday was superb. Our hosts and all staff were friendly, approachable and professional. The accommodation is even better in real life and the rooms upgraded from the photos shown. The location is perfect a short walk from the Hip ***** up a gradient slope or through the property down steps.But We felt safe walking either route day or night . The entire property was very secure with key card or fob access for the external entrances. Breakfast was ordered daily and suited was a feast starting with fresh fruit, juice tea or coffee followed by breakfast items of your choice traditional Jamaican made to your liking . For example they offer ackee and salt fish but my husband prefers it with bacon and tomato so they made that for him! Or American ie oatmeal, toast, French toast, eggs etc Breakfast served on the veranda with a view of the stunning bay. We had room 6 with a pool view. For the entire stay it was so peaceful and we had the pool area to ourselves when we used it although the other guests were delightful and we enjoyed our engagement during breakfast. Our room was beautifully decorated in a boutique hotel style with a fridge stocked with water and ice - very handy! Ample storage. Beautiful bathroom with a Japanese style toilet (bidet) I highly recommend this property and would love to return!
