Castellare di Tonda

We visited the hotel in April 2025 as a group of four families, each with children, and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and everything was impeccably clean. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, making it easy to prepare meals during our stay. The outdoor area was just as thoughtfully arranged, with chairs, loungers, and tables that allowed us to enjoy lunch and dinner outside in the fresh air, surrounded by breathtaking views of vineyards and forests. The children played freely on the lawn while we relaxed nearby. Service at the reception was outstanding—every request we made was addressed promptly, with warmth and a positive attitude. Breakfast was rich and varied, offering something for everyone. The pool was clean and well-maintained, and thanks to the layout of the hotel—where each group of rooms has access to its own pool and children's pool—we enjoyed complete privacy throughout our stay. The apartments on the estate are restored keeping original features of traditional Tuscan farm buildings so are rustic, but well equipped, clean, very comfy beds, great bathrooms. The staff were welcoming, helpful and we loved the area..

Lets start with the positives... The setting is beautiful, Tuscany at its best. Marvellous views, natural settings and rustic countryside. However, the apartment we were in was very old, hardly clean and badly decorated. From the scratches on the kitchen furniture to the old mattresses, the whole place needed a refurbishment. Non-existent wi-fi but we didn't care too much as we were on holiday. The sofa bed were my daughters slept was VERY uncomfortable. The restaurant was very slow, clearly overwhelmed, during both meals we had (one of which was a fixed menu Easter lunch). Lastly, they tried to charge us twice for a SPA service claiming to my husband that I didn't pay a manicure - which I did (can you just check the receipt you just printed before trying to charge us again)? Overall, I felt the place was a missed opportunity for a lovely stay which ended up being a bit ruined by a very old apartment, a badly organised restaurant and mediocre customer service.

Une énorme déception à mi-juillet 2025 ! On a payé 1'750 Euros pour 5 nuits pour un logement de 3 pièces (2 chambres) supérieur (avec un lave-vaisselle et une climatisation) - sans déjeuner, ni pension. Ne croyez surtout pas les images publiées sur le site, regardez plutôt ce que nous avons obtenu pour le prix payé dans nos photos du logement. Le four... un espèce de petit four de la taille d'un micro-onde posé sur le plan de travail... pour un logement pouvant accueillir 4 personnes. Une douche de 70cm x 70cm avec lavabo collé aux toilettes. Impossible de se sécher correctement sans se taper contre le lavabo ou le WC. Une grande personne est coincée dans une cabine de douche très (trop) petite par rapport à ce qui est présenté sur leur site. Le mitigeur de la douche qui ne fonctionne pas correctement : eau glacée ou très chaude ! De la moisissure dans les joints de la douche. Un appartement relativement sale, mal équipé, vétuste. Une piscine en fin de course et pas du tout sécurisée pour les enfants et les animaux : pas de barrière pour sécuriser l'accès ou barrière ne se fermant pas. Des balançoires manquantes. Le prix appliqué est totalement exagéré. La Directrice nous informe qu'il aurait fallu lui dire ceci dès notre arrivée et elle aurait proposé un autre logement. Ceci signifie qu'on essaie de "voler" le client si ce dernier ne dit rien... quelle belle attitude ! Aucun geste commercial et reconnaissance des problèmes constatés... c'est ainsi et c'est tout. Au final, à éviter absolument. Il y a d'autres structures qui savent respecter leur clientèle dans cette très belle région. Quel dommage car l'emplacement et le domaine pourraient offrir énormément à ses clients. Il y a un gros potentiel, mais c'est totalement éclipsé par l'expérience vécue. Sachant ne pas avoir un droit de réponse à ce qui sera dit par la structure en réponse à mes critiques, je publie des photos qui parlent d'elles-même ! N'oubliez pas : 1'750 Euros pour 5 nuits pour le logement seul, sans autre service !

Hallo, wir sind als Familie zu viert mit Hund angereist und haben eine sehr schöne Woche hier verbracht. Das Essen hat uns geschmeckt, alle waren sehr freundlich und auch unser Hund war überall willkommen. Die Aussicht ist wunderschön. Wir haben uns einmal Fahrräder gemietet und sind durch die Toskana gefahren. Das Reiten hat uns allen gefallen , sehr guter Unterricht ( Western). Die Weinverkostung war sehr sehr gut. Und natürlich waren wir jeden Tag im Pool… der nie überfüllt war. Es war eine sehr schöne Woche die wir hier erlebt haben .

Posto incantevole immerso nelle colline toscane, tra Volterra e San Gimignano. Io e due amiche abbiamo soggiornato in un trilocale presso il Castellare durante il weekend di Pasqua (mezza pensione) e siamo rimaste stra soddisfatte sotto ogni aspetto. Appartamento rustico, pulito, spazioso, dotato di qualsiasi cosa. Colazione buona, sia dolce che salata. Alla sera potevamo scegliere il menù che preferivamo che comprendeva dall'antipasto al dolce e tutti i piatti erano curati nei dettagli e ricercati; forse a volte un po più lunga l'attesa ma ne valeva la pena. Personale super gentile e disponibile sia prima dell'arrivo che durante il soggiorno. La spa dalla vista mozzafiato una chicca per rigenerarsi.
