We were a family of four from USA that stay at the Il Torrino for 4 nights and we couldn't have been happier with our experience! Before we even arrived, the manager Sarah was in communication with me to help with transportation to and from the resort, coordinating the booking of a rental car that was delivered to the resort, day trips (Pisa and cooking class at winery) and dinner planning. The resort and location were outstanding! The town of Montaione which was within 2 miles had a supermarket, bakery and a handful of good restaurants to go to. The resort itself has a restaurant on-site that is only for hotel guests and must be booked in advance as it is basically run by the chef. We have breakfast once and then dinner and it was one of the best meals we had in Italy, not to mention the views are incredible. Il Torrino is also a wine and olive oil maker and sells their products in the staff office. They are very reasonably price and I found them to be good for the value. The grounds are very nice and well kept. Each unit has assigned chairs at the pool which eliminates any "seat saving" issues. We used the laundry facilities which where good and they had detergent available for free use. We stay in the 3BD Leonardo apartment. There was a massive heatwave during our trip and were pleased to see that each bedroom had its own ductless A/C which worked incredibly. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, glasses, pots, pans and even a coffee percolator. There was a Smart TV in the living room, master BD on main floor and other two BDs upstairs on the second floor. My only critique was that I found the mattress to be a bit uncomfortable, but still slept very well. The unit also has a private patio (see picture) with incredible views. The restaurant and pool where both less than a 2 minute walk from the unit even though the apartment is at the back of the property and very quiet. If you are looking for a relaxing couple days in a small Tuscany city, I would highly recommend Il Torrino.
