Playa Montroig Camping Resort

found the accommodation outdated and way too small for six people,we were squashed into the caravan like sardines and there was one tiny bathroom,the supermarket is nice and the shop in the park is big and has everything you would need.the pools were freezing cold for june and none was in them.i found it to be very boring in the evening and night after the pool closed.i don’t think i would return

Really well maintained site, especially in and around the pool areas where there were lots of lifeguards who really kept an eye on things. We stayed in one of the Palm Tree Villas and couldn't complain about it. Clean, comfortable, and had all the basic necessities, including a small kitchen and air con! The facilities on site are decent, and in the case of the supermarket, a little on the expensive side. *Please check the opening hours of the supermarket as it closes very early on Sunday* Reception staff and check-in were all great and very straightforward with little hassles or stress. The only areas of frustration were with: 1: The on-site restaurant, which was average at best and always had a very odd and off-putting smell, which meant it was hard to spend too much time there. The takeaway pizzas were great, but the paella was very greasy. 2: The service at all of the bars restaurants was poor and inattentive. It could be down to lack of training, but almost all staff looked fed up and tried to avoid any form of eye contact in case they had to serve someone. TIP: For dining/drinks, go to the nearby Restaurant Friends, which is far superior. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but a week is enough due to the limitations around dining and shopping.

We've just returned home from a week stay in The Marine Ecolodge at playa montroig 03/06- 10/06. We did enjoy ourselves however we have a few comments/ feedback for you to consider .. When we arrived we had to drag our bags as a family of 5(including 2 x kids and one elderly grandmother with mobility issues) from reception all the way to the accommodation without any offer of assistance or lift. The staff member cycled his bike in front of us! The Marine Ecolodge could do with another mirror, perhaps in one of the bedrooms. An electrical socket on the left of the main bedroom wasn't working. The sink in the shower room tilts forward so water drips onto the floor from around the tap drainage area and the sink is slow to drain. Service at the pool bar at the Garden pool was particularly slow and requires extra staff particularly during busy periods, same with Pai Pai- one bar staff at night isn't sufficient- many guests remarked on this issue. The Grill restaurant wasnt open until June 20th despite the campsite being busy, Service in Terrassa was also very slow and many of the meals - pasta, paella were too oily- we only ate once in Terressa as a group of 16 people and then we all took our custom to 'Friends' as the quality of service and food was so much more impressive. Lighting along the public walkways was poor at night and many dirt paths particularly under the bridge at the splash pool could do with paving. We tried to rent a motorised wheelchair at reception and was told these werent allowed...then went to the onsite bike rental and the guy there was much more helpful and told us it was possible and who to contact!Recycling bins by the Garden pool for water bottles, take away cups etc would be a good idea.FYI you can't take chairs around the garden pool-disadvantage for our family as my elderly mother had to sit up at the poolside bar as we stayed near the pool to watch the kids. I did contacted them directly on our return privately to give them an opportunity to review and respond and I heard nothing which was super disappointing, hence why I'm now making this review public

We have just come back from a week at playa Montroig and I can honestly say it’s been amazing from start to finish. We have two young child (4 years old and 9 months ) my 4 year old was in her element ! The pools are amazing and we must have been on the slides 100000 times ! The beach is on the doorstep, the mini disco was perfect for her and she loved meeting roggi! The splash park was lovely too as well as the two parks ! The restaurant on the beach “friends” was lovely and right at the end of the campsite. The on-site supermarket has everything you need too and it’s pretty reasonable. It’s only 20 minutes from Reus airport which is fab for young children! We stayed in Eurocamp 3 bedroom and it was spacious for 4 of us. We are pleased we went for 3 beds as I was told the 2 one would have been tight with a travel cot. They provided this, a baby bath , high chair and side rail for my 4 year old so she didn’t fall out the bed ! The mini disco was on every night at either 7pm or 8pm they also did some fun activities for kids and adults in the pool! It’s perfect place for a family holiday and we Will definitely be back! My 4 year Old did not want to leave ! The ice cream was also amazing from The ice cream palour ! The main entrainment didn’t start until 10pm which we didn’t stay up for so can’t comment on this but looked a good variety on! Mini club too providing lots of fun activities for the children. All staff lovely and so welcoming thank you x

Stayed for a third year in a row through Eurocamp. However, I found this years van much more dated and smaller than in previous years. Wasn't as big or anything like the floor plans suggested, when we complained we were told that you should "never trust floor plans" Eurocamp did offer some compensation to their credit however I was happy with what I'd paid and in future I would be genuinely worried that I wouldn't get what I'd paid for, they have bought vans from other companies and not sure that they have the same control as previously. That said, I love the park but felt letdown by Eurocamp

We highly recommend Playa Montroig Camping Resort for a family holiday. We went with Eurocamp and stayed in their azure 3 bed caravan with AC. It was a comfortable stay. However, the huge plus for us, was the great site facilities. The pool was a 5 stars. Great fun for us all. (2 children aged 10 and 3). The shops on site were great, fully stocked with every necessity, and all reasonably priced. We had pizzas a few times in the restaurant on site. Food nice, but i would leave plenty of time as it was very slow on service, and the staff were not very chatty. But nothing bad. The bar was very reasonable on drinks prices, slow in service again but otherwise good. Overall, we had an amazing stay, and are already planning for our return, thank you for a lovely week.

Very bad experience! We strongly advise not to stay at this camping resort. Staff at Playa Montroig camping resort have been very unhelpful sometimes even rude. On our departure, security guard didn’t want to let us out of the camping to catch our flight because it was before 08:00 didn’t care we could miss our flight! Staff at the restaurant at the camping was also a big disappointment and made our experience very difficult. Firstly they would not allow to put tables together for a big family to sit together so either family sits separate or you don’t have enough space at one table and you can hold plates on your knees as there is not enough space on the table! When we asked a waitress to bring cutlery or if they can slice a fruit they were serving, staff would either leave us waiting forever or make a problem out of it as they „don’t have time”. No customer service skills, staff at the camping resort acting like customers are a burden. We have been to many places in Spain and we have never experienced such a bad service. I have no idea how Playa Montroig camping resort got 5 stars but we are deeply dissatisfied with our experience.

Our trip to Playa Montroig was okay but we left early and wouldn’t return. Having stayed in campsites along this coastline before we decided to try this one out. Our first mistake was choosing to book with a separate company (eurocamp style but not eurocamp) which meant our accommodation was very far from the amenities. The roads are stoney and dusty and cars drive pretty fast around the place so with bags/small kids it wasn’t suitable. We did see the accommodation that was part of the campsite itself and it looked much nicer and closer to everything. There is a busy road and dirt track connecting one part of the site to the other. Again, not nice to walk on and stressful with small kids. There is also another uneven dirt track/ road/underpass that leads across the road to football pitches. We ventured over to check it out but were not impressed in terms of safety or standard of facilities. I absolutely wouldn’t allow my kids go over there unsupervised. To access the main pool area you need your wristband which often didn’t work. Had to go to reception multiple times to get them reset. This took ages each time as reception was very busy. There are no loungers by the pool which isn’t ideal. Sitting or lying on fake grass for hours. We used the splash pool most of the time for this reason. There were loungers there and no need for wristbands scanning. The staff were not the best overall. Lifeguards telling you half an hour before the pools are supposed to close that you need to start packing up and get out. Restaurant staff quite abrupt etc. the opening times of the pools was quite short also. The opening hours for the shops were frustrating. Closed for 3 hours in the middle of the day. The tennis courts were very expensive to rent and to rent golf clubs you needed a cash deposit which we didn’t have and they wouldn’t take a tap payment. The site is on the beach but the water was so polluted that we didn’t get in. This isn’t the campsites fault of course but it was gross with lots of rubbish floating by. Another thing that the campsite has little control over but was a nightmare was the number of mosquitos. On arrival we noticed people COVERED in bites so we were on high alert with deet but still got a few bites. The bus stop outside the campsite on the main, very busy road is literally just a pole. The bus was not on time so you had a group of families with small kids waiting for over 30minutes in the heat by a busy road. I think the campsite should invest in a proper bus shelter with seating just off the road. There was plenty of space available. Our highlight was the Friends restaurant on the beach which isn’t part of the campsite. The staff, food and location were lovely. We ended up going there a few times. We left our holiday 4 days early and flew home as overall it just wasn’t for us.

The campsite was fantastic overall. The clean pools and family-friendly atmosphere made everyone feel welcome. The kids had plenty of activities to keep them entertained, while the adults could relax. During my stay, I discovered "Happy Rogi," a delightful spot with light, delicious crepes filled with classic choices like Nutella and hazelnut cream. The ice cream was perfect for the summer heat. The service from the two waitresses at "Happy Rogi" was exceptional, always friendly and willing to customize each order. Without a doubt, I would return to the campsite for the experience at "Happy Rogi" and the welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!
