Playa Montroig Camping Resort

Firstly walked into accommodation and it smelt really bad of mould/mildew and rotten raw meat. Spoke to someone a direct all they did was spray the place. The toilet when you flush it gets stuck all the time someone came round and did nothing. Everything has a layer of dirt/dust so if you want to feel unclean then this is the place to be. Why should I have to clean before i get settled. The parents and the kids have no manners and spacial awareness especially in the pool it's ridiculous. Grown men throwing themselves into the pool and splashing the kids and the kids doing the same right next to little children. The pillows for the beds are flat. The cutlery are rusty and all they did was bring me new rusty ones... it's just an unclean and uncomfortable stay so we only spent one day here and chose to spend the money and go out everyday to get away from it all.

The worst experience of our lives. Very aggressive towards their clients. Awful place run by a extremely violent manager from Switzerland or Austria. Simply do not book anything here, there are far better and cheaper spots in the area where you don't need to fear aggressive personnel.

it was a very clean place..could not fault the mobile homes..we had a great holiday. however with young children there were too many cars around especially between reception and the shop area...also a poor enough selection of places to eat on site..pools spotless and lifeguards excellent

We stayed the first 2 weeks of July - 2 adults & 2 teens (15 & 13). We had a really lovely time. Accommodation: we stayed in a 3-bedroom Premium with Homair& Eurocamp. Things we loved- Aircon; beds made up on arrival; v comfy beds; dishwasher; USB ports throughout; very good Wifi. Things we didn't love- shower was a bit tricky to get the temperature right. People: have to say the staff were wonderful throughout- special mention to the lovely lady who works on the meat counter in the supermarket- she had little english, we had less Spanish- but she chatted away to us when we were there. Food: the supermarket on site is well stocked and reasonably priced. The takeaway is good value an portions are generous. We ate at La Terrassa twice, nice menu and good service. Pool & Beach: the pool area is nice. I quite liked the no sun loungers. The artificial grass is quite soft. Loved the beach (my 2 love swimming). Gets to a good depth quite quickly. Beach is quite pebbly. Entertainment: we didn't go to the shows; so can't comment. Jordi (magician) was doing table magic one night in La Terassa- he was brilliant. There was fireworks on the beach another night- almost felt like we were in the display - amazing. Nearby - we had a hire car so did a bit of exploring. We did a 3 day pass for Portaventura (25 min drive). Loved the theme park; Aqua park was good but not as spectacular. Spent a day in Tarragona (20 min drive) ; lovely town. Would we go back - yes, I would happily go back.

Just returned for a short stay here and my 6 year old son really enjoyed it . The splash pool and garden pool were a huge hit with him. The cabin with stayed in was a smaller type and was clean had no issues with any of the equipment. It is a cramped space particularly the toilet and shower areas so it's not by any means a glamping experience. For the price we paid it was good value but we went at off peak season . The camp walkways are very dark at nighttime and there is no segregated pedestrian walkway from the camp area to the rest of the camp which is quite dangerous considering the camp is full of small kids and should be addressed immediately to prevent a serious or fatal accident .The camp reception staff were helpful and friendly. The lifeguard at the splash pool turned up late and then was rude and unprofessional to the those of us who had went in with no lifeguard on duty and then was absent from her post frequently throughtout the day. .Maybe if she turned up to work on time she could avoid repeat situations and some appropriate signage also consider repositioning the entrance so families are not standing on the main road round a blind corner. Bar /restaurant were not really friendly but it was quite clear that the restaurant/bar/takeaway is very poorly managed . Staff get annoyed that tourists who just arrived do not know what the service rules are but there's isnt a single sign to explain the service rules ,where to order takeaway food etc...but staff could do more especially when they see people standing at the bar trying to order a drink for 20 mins appropriate signage and a host/ service floater in this area to assist people would be a wise move. Food was ok standard for the price but nothing to rave about. Supermarket and souvenir shop were good. However my son did have a great time in the pools and at the campsite and would like to return ...I am still undecided.

We were disappointed. No loungers, parasols or shade at the swimming pool (!!). Slow service. Our inflatable and ball were stolen from the pool and no one cared. The beach is unattractive and neglected. Almost broke a toe on a stone playing beach volleyball- the court is full of stones and unprepared. The app is very basic. Some staff rude. Zero activities for young teenagers. No atmosphere.
