Albergo Diffuso Monopoli

A great apartment, clean, comfortable and in a fantastic location. Sylvia and the team made the stay super easy and were so helpful and accommodating when we needed to arrange taxis, car hire and other recommendations. A great base for exploring Puglia.

If you want to walk to all Monopoli has to offer this is a great hotel. The breakfast was wonderfu,, the room while up stairs with no elevator was two or three layers and a complete apartment with balconies. The staff was hospitable but like so many smaller hotels, you need to provide them with an arrival time since staff is not full time. All amenities were top drawer and spotlessly clean, everything worked. Recommended, the location in Old Towns, where you walk to everything, is so very important--even though our car was parked (free) at a marina 1500m away.

This “hotel” has many different rooms/suites/apartments available all over town, and we as a couple stayed in the wonderful Garibaldi suite overlooking the lively main plaza. The bedroom is spacious and pretty, the bathroom is modern and well-equipped, coffee and tea are supplied, a little sitting room is between the bedroom and bathroom, and the towel array is generous. But the highlight is the romantic balcony on the second floor overlooking the main plaza. It’s the perfect spot for breakfast, a glass of wine, a takeaway dinner. You are shaded from onlookers by foliage, but you can peek through it as well as enjoy the music from the plaza — morning and night! We wished we could have stayed more than one night. As with many of the “old cities” in this region, you do have to park your car outside the old city. But it’s free and reception will send a man with a car to bring you and your luggage to the central reception office. From there, you walk to wherever your accommodation is, so you’ll be rolling luggage through the streets. Our room was up a flight of stone stairs. Obviously best for people with lighter luggage! (But more help may be available if you need it; we didn’t ask.) Reception staff is very helpful.

This place is simply amazing! It was the best room I took on my trip to Italy this November (we visited a total of 16 cities and stayed at amazing hotels, but no room like this one). The room was very beautiful and giant, comfy and cozy. The bathroom is super modern and big, comfortable as well. The girls at reception are incredible. They did everything to make our stay wonderful. I made a mistake in the reservation because I had to do it at the last minute before the trip, and they handled it perfectly. They helped us solve the problem with *********** and gave us the best tips during the trip. They had a guy helping us take the luggage from and to the car that could be parked at a parking lot out of the city center for free. One of their tips was to go to the restaurant Il Guazzeto where I had the best fish I could ever try in my life. Outstanding trip and service! Thank you!

As the name "diffuso" suggests, this lodging consists not of one site but several unconnected rooms in the old town of Monopoli, steps from the port. Marvelous location and charming hosts. My room was simple and up a steep flight of stairs, so this is probably not a wise lodging for the mobility-impaired (nor, for that matter, is old town Monopoli.)

Great location and cosy rooms. Very helpful and englishspeaking staff. No breakfast included but you could buy it for an small extra cost just outside the reception. Quality of the bathroom could be better

Awesome staff, they were so kind and helpful! The rooms were spacious, with lovely modern decor and all amenities you might need. Good breakfast. The location couldn't be better. My room was right next to the best ice cream shop in the town centre - something that I definitely did not take advantage of every single day (cough, cough).

This place is amazing value for money. The family that owns it is very friendly and communicates well over email. They pick you up from the town's free lot and are helpful. We stayed in the room Dimora Chiasso which is right next to reception. The location is at the center of everything, and a 10 minute walk to one free lot, and a 15-20 minute walk to the other. We thought this was an ideal location. The room was large (separate living area with full kitchen) and had good wifi and shower pressure and temperature, so perfect for families and comfortable. It is clearly a property designed for longer stays (cleaning and towel changes every so many days) and it is not a luxury property by any means. Given this, the breakfast goes beyond expectations - good selection and high quality products with friendly wait staff. Do not hesitate to book here.

I was part of a group staying in Monopoli. All our apartments were different but excellent. I was staying in an apartment in the courtyard where reception and breakfast cafe can be found and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. I had a lovely first floor bedroom with balcony overlooking the courtyard with a large kitchen and terrace on the second floor. I didn’t use the kitchen but if anyone wanted a self catering holiday the kitchen had everything you would need. Staff were excellent and very helpful when we had issues with our airport transfer. Whole experience of staying in Monopoli was a delight.
